This is the first place I went to when I heard that Splotter was reprinting this game. It just became a must-buy for me. Thanks for showing it off!

Literally just bought this after playing 2 player FCM. Loved FCM and this is currently available. It’s now coming home. Looking forward to giving this a go. There is a solo version via something called Mautoma (along with others including FCM!). Will try that out too. Yay Splotter. Would have loved Horseless carriage to be doable at 2 because player count can be an issue and given the price of most Splotter games the scalable player counts helps them hit the table more.

Suggestion: use a small die on top of each monument on future games so we can see how high the levels are.

Nice video and a really cool looking game. I will join the call to Splotter to do a reprint. I would by one. Great job Jess!

Went back a long way to see this in 2-player. The auction doesn't work well, of course, but everything else seems to still play quite well. There are just enough resource limitations and distance problems to make it all work.

i really struggled through your explanation of the rules tbh but the gameplay helped.

while not as exicit, i feel swords to plowshares/upstard goblin type effects are essentially +vr requirement costs for effects

I think it's relatively common to let players trade a benefit for a VP penalty.
Even if not counting games where you bid VP for chosing sides, I could name a few.

Good point. But what makes this mechanism special, is that reaching your VR is the goal and end game trigger. In other games where you can spend VP for benefits, the winner is normally the player with the most points at the end of the game (after a certain number of rounds for instance).

If anyone of splotter reads this; Please reprint this game. I want a copy and I don't want to pay 200+ euros to a reseller.

Hmmm at first everything looked very tempting, however the God Jess took seems totally overpowered. And that is just disqualification in any game. I hate games that have one winning move. And in this game this is how it happened one god + one specialist gave Jess easy winn which was obvious from the second round onwards. I am sooo glad I watched this playthrough. I was seconds from buying this game and now I know not only I don't want to have it on my shelf but also don't want to play it at all. Much appreciated. Great teach as usually!
