    I have an 90g SPS dominant under 4 t5’s and 2 blue Xho blues, growing crazy good!! Also my 210 is also sps dominant with new Philip coral Gen 2, putting on just white during day, corals are growing as fast as MH. Just dosing brightwell kalk +2 and 10% water changes weekly.

    I love my aquatic edge hybrid I got from you guys. I just added some AP700 hundreds to it, and man I was blown away. I need to get a par meter to dial them in perfectly and then start adding sticks. I have yet to have any SPS, but I think I am getting closer for success.

    Straton vs sky review!

    • @hurricaneaquatics
      @hurricaneaquatics 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That won't be a contest. The ATI Straton is doing it right. It has more UV LEDs than any other light on the market. That has been the secret to LED lighting for over a decade and not one has figured that out yet, until the Straton. No idea why all of these lights only include only a few and include 40 Royal Blue. A better mixture would be 18 UV and 30 Royal Blue.

    • @hurricaneaquatics
      @hurricaneaquatics 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I should add that ONE light did figure that out. The Kessil. It was the O ly one offering true UV output over all these years. I suspect the Straton will be even better.

    • @wwiiireef
      @wwiiireef 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hurricaneaquatics Couldn't agree more! I have 4 stratons and is why I want them to compare to anything else. They won't, so they don't ruffle feathers. Maybe when they get them in stock and enough people ask, they will do the proper review!

    I´ve buyed a SenEye a couple of weeks ago and discovered, that my PAR-Values are way to high. So how would you reduce the light intensity? Do you have any advice how many percent in which time intervals i should do that so i do not stress the corals that much? Greetings from Germany and thanks for all you valueable input :).

    The price of these LEDs are outrageous. People are just recovering from Covid some lost jobs. LEDs costing $900 to $1100 each. Some people needing 2 x3 just to light a tank. The hobby has changed towards money

    Kessil need to include the dongle with the 360x and the x500. Its B.S. that they can't include it. And do not say it would make the light bigger because it won't and I have prof.

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For a 2 foot cube, that should work without issues. If you can mount the light about 12" off the water surface, you'll get good light spread without the light spill into the surrounding room.

      invest in an apogee 510 par meter or rent it from BRS and save your money on all these super fancy lights, get some black box LED’s and set them to the right intensity, they say it themselves keep the lights the same as playing around with lights up and down is worse then setting it properly once and leaving it alone. I got 3 reef LED’s from Red Sea, set them up once with the meter and haven’t used the app in 4+ months lol

    Its not that LED don’t grow sps but its proven slow that’s it and that’s the only problem. Its been a while these guys do this type of episode that it gets boring with the same topic trying to HOO HAA led. Metal halides and t5 or hybrids do best than leds only. BRSTv is not like those days anymore seriously.

      I share corals with my friend and he uses halides and the corals look great. Mine look great too and grow equally fast.

  • @raisethereef

    Mistake 1: Not using halides as your main light source.
    The end.
    This topic has become far too complicated and the market is too saturated with sub-par options that cost too much. As a whole, we need to make this hobby easier and simpler. We definitely don't need more companies making lights that provide nothing new or innovative.
