- Justin Hayward & John Lodge of The Moody Blues play with The Beach Boys at the national 4th of July celebration in Washington, DC on July 4,1984.
Songs: Good Vibrations and Help Me Rhonda
What a combination a super super group, singing one of my all time favourites. Wore my 45 RPM vinyl out. Ringo Star a bonus. Thanks for posting priceless ❤
The Moody Blues forever. ❤
Something special about the Beach Boys and their 4th of July concerts in Washington DC.
Justin Hayward and John Lodge, The Beach Boys, and Ringo Starr. What could be better?
And on July 4 in Washington DC!
Can you count all the famous lead singers on stage? I saw Chuck Negron, Cory Wells, and Danny Hutton of 3 Dog Night. Justin Hayward, John Lodge, Brian and Carl Wilson, I think Bruce Johnston was in the white shorts, Al Jardine, Mike Love, Ringo. I half expected the Doobie Brothers to come walking in.
The fabulous Blue Jays!
Blue jays- always a favorite!
Fabulous video
I remember watching that on TV with my Mom.
That's Ringo Starr on the drums...
Justin and Lodge were there but I don't hear them playing or singing. They should have played one of Moody Blues.
I don't miss the 80's Washington DC smog. Remember when "hazy, hot & humid" was the phrase to describe every summer day in the dc area? Thankful for blue skies today.
And THE FAMOUS RINGO!!
I remember this!
Almost a complete BB lineup Carl and Brian both there
I remember watching that.
3 Dog Night singing back ups too Wow
There was a time Brian was producing them, They were supposed ot be on Brother Records. Then Brian was forced by his bandmates to give that up (see Cory Negron's autobiography). It cost the BB's millions had they at least signed them to their label.
THIS IS SOOOOO---- YOU CAN FILL IN THE BLANKS 😳😳
Fantastic ain't enough...
awesome
That's Ringo on drums.
At the time, The Moodies and The Beach Boys had the same manager.
Tom Hulett
Where's the knighthoods for these awesome troubadours ❤
Justin Hayward is a Sir, after recieving mbe
who was that on drums?
Ringo Starr
@@MoodyBluesFan Thank you!!! I thought so but wanted confirmation. :-)
Wow almost 40 years ago the outfits are hysterical but i am not sure why J&J were there!
The Moody Blues were in the US on tour at the time. They were friends with the BB so the BB probably invited them.
Yea the moodies were probably playing at the merriwether post pavilion in Columbia md which wasnt far from dc
@@MoodyBluesFanBrian Wilson is still good friends with those guys and close friends with Sir Paul 🎸 too.
Many musicians have incredible respect for Brian Wilson. That's why.
wow Justin and John, a little in their own league, apart from the rest. So obvious.
English gentlemen mixed with beach guys
The Moodies fav Beach Boys song I like the Moodies music much better than The Beach Boys 💙
The Doobies and Jackson Browne too!
Why waste the talents of the Moodies?
