I just used my new Ohio Steal 4222V2 Yard sweeper today (5/22/24)....OMG! What an amazing piece of yard equipment...! Blow doors on a mower bagger and WAY less $$$.
My personal opinion is it's just as good or better than a bagger. It also leaves a pretty stripe in the grass and it's about 1/10 the cost. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. It helps the algorithm find me. 😉
@@HGAviator I am in Alabama zone 8a. My accent on film probably gives it away 😂. Last fall I did a video e St Augustine grass on an estate in Tampa. Hit the search bar on the channel and it should pop right up.
Bagger cost is exactly why I'm considering a lawn sweeper. I found a great deal on a used commercial mower. It needed some work, but I got it cheap. The bagger for it? $2600. Geez!
Exactly how I ended up with this one. I forget how old this video is, I think a few years. But I literally used mine yesterday and it still works great.
I just have mine adjusted so the brushes just touch the op of the grass to pickup the lose leaves and grass piles after mowing. I want to let the leaves imbedded in the grass there. They are a mulch and fertilize the lawn naturally. My lawn still looks nice but I didn't want to disturb the natural growth.
Would anyone who owns this unit be able to say whether it easy to pull it in a "disengaged mode"? Meaning, I'd like to adjust the sweeper way off the grass when I transport over to an area where I will dump the hopper so I'm not sweeping gravel, dirt, etc. and then drop it down again to continue lawn sweeping. Thanks!
Yes, you just raise the wheel setting to the highest setting to move and then drop it down. I'm about to do another review of this deeper. I've had it two years and abused it. She still runs like a top. Brushes, bags, wheels, etc still in good shape
This video is only a year old and I just bought one and it looks nothing like this. The bag sits up higher with an overhang. The adjustment is a steel bar in the middle with a locking pin so it can't slip. This one here seems odd with that type of wheel adjustment
They may have done a redesign? I'm not sure. I also picked this one up at tractor supply. Perhaps they make them slightly different based on what retailer gets them? Thank you for sharing your experience so others can learn.
Thanks for your review. Very helpful. Just took mine out of the box and fixing to assemble. Impressed with the materials quality so far.
Just as a follow up on this video because it's a little older. I just used the sweeper last week and it still runs like a top.

@Dr.Warren where are you located? I'm in Central Florida (Deltona). Do you have any videos on the best types of grass in my area?

@@HGAviator I found it.

Keep in mind to go fairly slow. Only plastic gear teeth on the wheels amd will strip out if too fast or brush too deep in grass

Great idea. Just make sure the remaining leaves don't stay too wet and lead to something like ferry ring or dollar spot.
1/2 inch below grass top is recommended
Thank you

Also, I'm digging the hisenburg pic. I'm not a big TV watcher but I was 100% addicted to breaking bad.
What do you do with the collected leaves? Mulch them?
Hopefully going to do a few videos on composting and will use the leaves as an example.
How’s it holding up?
I haven't used it since March but so far so good.
