Figured that junk was spam. Congrats Chris. Farm doubling in size is a great achievement. You ought to be very proud. Gonna be super. Best of luck with your new dream.
You want to fence of the cabin site and get in some Boer and Goats in, they not only between them clear the area at lower levels but also clear the smaller trees and flatten of some of the smaller mounds. Best thing is that you won't need to feed them, free land management and doing the work whilst your getting ready for the bigger stuff. No fuel costs!
Chris and I have watched you for years I have never made the first comment just enjoyed your content and your wonderful work. However with the purchase of this Farm I don't believe I've ever heard you so excited. Your head is so full of excitement and Visions I am very happy for you.
Wonderful! How exciting to have finally gotten your dream farm! I know you've been doing TH-cam for a long time, and it's nice to see how some of that income can be converted into long-term income via rental units, etc. You're young right now, but before you know it, you'll be old like me! If you set everything up right, you can have a comfortable work life and retirement without having to work 80 hours each week. You're smart and a hard worker -- I can't think of anyone who deserves this more than you!
Congratz on the new property! It's nice to have a new clean canvas on which to paint another portrait! As for the oak - we call them Black Jack Oaks here in Texas. I have a few on my property and I've done everything I can to clear around them and clean them up to promote more growth. Enjoy and I look forward to seeing how you turn your ideas into reality.
Congrats on being able to expand your farm. The cattle will be happy with the extra pasture. The cabin idea is a neat idea. Looking forward to future videos of you transforming the new property.
Congratulations! There once was a farmer who won the lottery and not a little lottery but THE lottery. The local news sent a reporter to interview him and he was asked "what was he going to do now?". He thought for a while and said that he was going to continue farming until the money ran out.
So you could deduce from that answer that maybe he wasn't such a good farmer. These days farming is not really a lifestyle as it may have been, rather it requires considerable business acumen.
And with all the business knowledge in the world you could still wake up one morning broke as a joke. A farmer is the only business that doesn’t have a set price on what they produce. Way too many other folks taking profit between the farmer and consumer.
Yes I know that. Need to be a broker to play the Board. An ex boss was waiting for cattle to go up one more penny and just before closing they dropped a dollar. Millions of dollars were lost that day and they ended up selling a lot of property to get back on stable ground. Either way the broker made their money with no worries You can still lose big.
What a gorgeous piece of land. Thank you for sharing your dreams. I love to hear people have dreams and then they start to become reality through sheer hard work, passion and patience. I am so happy for you and your family. Don't forget to enjoy it. ❤❤❤
It is wonderful to hear the excitement in your voice when you talk about your future plans for your new property, piggies will go to 'freezer camp'.. the ponds, pastures and cabins sound awesome, can't wait to watch future videos of your work on your farms and the contract work by yourself and with Uncle John, always interesting and love your narration, stay safe and well, big love from Australia
Congrats on getting that land! Great investment and plans. That is indeed a Water Oak (a red oak species with spoon-shaped leaves) that is good for lumber but southern oak grows fast so the grains are wider than most red oak.
Congratulations Chris! Good news is the Water Oak likes wet areas like the edges of ponds, streams or swamps. Bad news is the have a shorter life span compared to other oaks of only 60 to 80 years. In my neighborhood and others around us in Tampa, FL many of them are having to be cut down because they are EOL and starting to rot from the inside out. That makes them a danger if we were to be hit by a hurricane and given the home insurance situation in Florida the last thing you need is a claim denied because they claim you knew the tree was a hazard and should have been removed. Probably good idea have them checked out when you start clearing.
Very cool project. Maybe talk with Kapper Outdoors? His channel is all about fixing up farmland and hunting grounds. th-cam.com/video/W-O8qQZdshw/w-d-xo.html
Chris, congrats on the nextdoor addition. Definitely going to keep you busy. Look into putting some RV campsites in. We are always looking for a quiet place to bring our travel trailer.
Congratulations Chris! Seldom does the opportunity to buy land like that beside your existing farm. A wedding venue could be another idea. The cabin thing is working well on farm land here near Charlotte. Can’t wait to see and hear updates on your new property.
We got the same opportunity to close on our neighboring property just a couple weeks ago. After waiting 5 years - I can relate - the feeling is fantastic to finally aquire it!
I really like that you see that land as a piece of local history Chris. You took an interest on the pond, how deep it was and where and why it leaked. The fact that this is part of a dream scenario, is superb. Could not happen to a nicer bloke.
Congrats Chris, you earned that. Nice farm addition you picked up. Those ditches and "road" might have actually been irrigation ditches for whatever crop they were planting on the raised flat "road" parts. Looked like they were evenly spaced and about the same length.
I am rapt that you have the new land and really look forward to seeing it all unfold. It is so exciting ! Land and trees (and tree growth) in the US is so different to Australia - I am always amazed. I start my day watching your video - so cannot wait to watch this project.
Congratulations on your new purchase, very nice that you were finally able to purchase what you’ve been wanting! Your plans sound wonderful, it’ll be interesting and fun to watch as you start implementing your plans for the property! Biggest challenge I see for you is finding time, what with all the work that everyone else wants to hire you to do. Best wishes that you’ll be able to complete your own dreams for the property in the very near future!
What a purchase and definitely nice,I’m happy for you! It’s great to have something of your own to invest your skills and time into and at the end of the day it’s your own!
WOW Chris!! You are living the dream. You have what sooooo many of us want and it just keeps getting better and better. Just shows what honest hard work and clean living can accomplish. Cognates on the additional property. It sounds like you have a real sound idea on how to develop it and help it work for you. Keep us posted. Would love to see videos of the process as you move forward. Have a great weekend and God Bless.
Thats certainly going to keep you, betty and the rest of the fleet busy! cant wait to see you getting in to this and brining it to life, love the vision on the cabins, we have a small plot of land with lakes on and thats the vision i have for it over the next year! Cant wait to see how you do it and hope to grab some tips and ideas.
Cool deal ! Venue would be a huge money maker. The numerous venues in our area stay booked. Most 2 years in advance. 💵 💴 💰 Rental cabins also 👍🏼 Can’t wait to see that pond when you make time for the project. Congratulations!
Congrats Chris! Love the idea of saving the big oaks, having pastures and cabins. Great vision and can't wait to see the videos of it all coming together. 😊.
I imagine, unless Chris is in some kind of hurry, that you will not see the end of this project until a few years down the road. I'm sorry if I missed this, but are you planning to sell the cabins to pay for the land, or rent them to tourists
Congrats on your purchase, sounds like you have it all mapped out what you want to do. I've got 100 acres & 3 "Glamping" tents in Northern NSW Australia, They're great once you have them all set up... Can't wait to see the projects get under way :) Keep up the good work.
Chris when I saw the title I thought - what? you have only recently finished the house. Then you revealed that it was alongside your property. Wow, that is amazing, congratulations. I really look forward to seeing how it develops.
Congratulations Chris! you were destined to be the new owner. Lucky for us... more content and you can walk the equipment to work site for a change. Good things happen to good people.
Congratulations!! It's nice to see that hard work does pay off. You'll have a beautiful piece of property when you're done. Hope all your goals come to be. Good luck not like you need it. Seems like when you set your mind on something you make it happen.
Very beautiful addition to your Farm!...And your vision will become a reality before you know it...After I am done here and bored , I'll come give you a hand 🙂
First time I’ve seen one, but I looked at the native oaks for NC and I think you’re right about it being a water oak. Those leaves are pretty distinctive.

Wow, exciting news!!! Good for you!!! You work so hard and manage your business. Looking forward to seeing you work on your newly acquired land. Getting land attaching to your farm is huge. So happy for you! May God bless you richly as your dream unfolds!!! Be safe and enjoy!
Sounds like a great plan, these days you have to diversify as my mum says “ never put all your eggs in one basket” looking forward to see your plans take shape. Farm holiday let’s are big here in southern Germany.
Congratulations on the new property. I can hardly wait to see all the videos of the transformation. You have a great vision for making things turn out awesome.
Congratulations Chris, if anyone deserves it it has to be you. Thanks for giving everyone such good experiences. Best of luck with all your future projects. Stay healthy. Best wishes from southern UK.
Congratulations on a beautiful pice of property Chris, We'er all looking forward to seeing the transformation of it. Loving your channel just a little bit more. I personally enjoy hearing you explain your projects. I'm still waiting on hear about your schooling involved in your line of work.
Congratulations, Chris!! I bought 80 acres of land about 12 years ago---8 acre pond, 20 in pasture and the rest woods. Just walking it and thinking of the possibilities was so much fun and I'm still doing it! Looks like you have Water Oaks--the deer and turkey will love you for leaving them!!
I’m so happy for you! I struggle to get a mental map of how this lays with your property but I’m sure eventually it will become clear. Such extensive plans that may or may not change as your vision becomes reality give all of us something to think about too! Thanks for sharing with us.
Congrats Chris ..beautiful property ! I saw several old deer rubs while you were walking and you know they love those white oaks !! Can't wait to see future videos on this land !
Nice buy, you can make most of your money back on the pine timber. Definitely want keep your hardwood timber, except what needs to taken down for room, etc. Beautiful place.
Very nice looking piece of property. I’m sure you will enjoying adding your improvements. I grew up in a ranching/farming family. In the 1950s and 60s my dad had some ponds (we call them stock tanks here in TX) built. Smaller ones were done with a D8 class dozer but the larger ones where the dirt needed to be carried and spread for a dam were done with pan scrapers. Draglines might have been used some, but ours were mostly done with scrapers.
At the 20:40 point the "roadbed" you are wondering about looks like an old "railroad bed" as seen around the western part of middle Tennessee. They were use around the war between the states and after time frame. They will be straight and LEVEL. (very slight curvature and little grade change). Borrow ditches and fills run against them on both sides. Look a lot like what you are standing on.
Hi Chris, Congratulations on you new property 👍 It is obviously a place you have put a lot of thoughts into.and I'm pretty sure I'm picking up on your excitement . I hope it becomes everything your envisioning. I know you can make it happen 😀👌. Stay safe and happy 🇨🇦 Craig.
Congratulations on the new property and your big plans. You can tell in the video you are all excited.....best of luck. Let us know when cabins are ready... stock one of the ponds please...
Well: it's productive land. So you can either farm it yourself or rent it out to somebody else who wants to cultivate it. The key is that it's PRODUCTIVE land.
daily uploads, great videography, great friend like Charlie, starts at dawn with greazed machines, now this undertaking! you are a great TH-cam channel Chris
21:00 We have ditches like that all these parts… in our instance they were from the civil war. Not sure if that might be the case there? I have no idea what part of the country you live in. Lol
Chris I am so very proud for you. Well deserved. Beautiful piece of property. Cows will love that new pasture. Cabin sites? Barn for a Venus? Keep your dreams big. You can do it. Love the aerial views. Sincere Congratulations.
Hey Chris that’s going to be a beautiful place when you get done. You’ve got the talent the tools the vision and the machinery to get your plans come to fruition! Good luck we will be waiting for you to break ground I know I will. Anyway good luck and best wishes with everything! Be safe out there.
I’m no expert but that oak looks like a Pin Oak. I love hearing you say you want to save the trees. The area I live in In Texas is growing by leaps and bounds. Clear cutting trees is an everyday occurrence. Breaks my heart. Congratulations on getting the average you wanted. It’s beautiful.
Ignore the spam comments saying you have won a prize. There are no prizes..
Figured that junk was spam. Congrats Chris. Farm doubling in size is a great achievement. You ought to be very proud. Gonna be super. Best of luck with your new dream.

You work hard and put in long hours and deserve every success. Thanks for sharing it with us. You have earned it the old fashioned way. Carry On.

I second your statement about old railroad bed @ 20:30 in the video that’s what it looks like to me
rail track bed was the first thought i had too tbh
I agree Railroad road bed. The RR loves to have a ditch on both sides
Congratulations Chris. Can't go wrong with land. Looking forward to the upgrades.
Congrats! This is going to be fun watching this all come to fruition. The cabins sound like an amazing idea. The barn idea as well.
If the area is fenced then bring in goats to start the clearing of poison ivy and allot of the other vegetation . They can and will eat what cattle will not. Plus they are holding a good market value also.
Congratulations Chris!
That's great Chris. now you have plenty of side projects.nice piece of land. thanks for the tour.
Way to go Chris on your new purchase, it will look fantastic when you're done with it.
Those ridge and furrows you showed us, if they don't go anywhere possible they were used for a drought proof vegetable garden, ridged up enough to prevent crops drowning in winter and wet enough to wick up water in summer. We have many such gardens in east anglia where server summer droughts are common dating back to 1815 to 1880 and built on spring lines and wet ground.
Congratulations, Chris. This is an awesome acquisition. Can't wait to see the miracle of the improvements you're planning.

Well: it's productive land. So you can either farm it yourself or rent it out to somebody else who wants to cultivate it. The key is that it's PRODUCTIVE land.

21:00 We have ditches like that all these parts… in our instance they were from the civil war. Not sure if that might be the case there? I have no idea what part of the country you live in. Lol
Near Raleigh North Carolina
That "weird road" looks like the old railroad beds we have all over the place here in PA. There were probably track on them at some point in the past.
That's an understatement...
Never seen so many abandoned RR track beads...
I was thinking the very same thing.
Old tram I'd say. A lot in SW Arkansas.
Congratulations Chris ! Gotta love lots of land and room to do whatever you want !
