The shout out to mommy was SO sweet! As far as your weight loss goes, you know definitely how to lose the weight. I did too, but I also had to be honest about 2 things for the most part: 1 - I cant afford to eat at Whole Foods & I dont know how to cook all that healthy stuff, 2 - I want to be able to eat any food I want & still lose weight. What I found doing this was a balance. Once I was honest I slowly but surely found a way of losing weight that at the same time I was about to still be sane!
to me, if I don't get anything out it, I won't do it. Finding inner balance and enjoyment out of everything you do. Good for Mom, I am sure you are proud of her taking those step toward weight loss.
I am glad that you are able to go through this emotional time and the challenge of dealing with your depression and not gain any significant weight, that is a success. What you eat really does affect your mood.. start seeing what foods make you feel awesome and what doesn't. ( frozen food or packaged foods will not make you feel awesome)
Jason, I felt like you were speaking right to me when you said "Maybe your one of the ones who hasn't found there way yet but you will."I totally get what your saying about me wanting to...but...just know i do wanna thank you. Thank you for being supportive to me!!! I wish for you and for me in this coming year is above all else mental peace! -Harmony
It took me months to finally get the groove (I was losing about a half a pound a week) but honestly, I was so desperate, I didnt stop. What happened was I learned what I was willing to give up & what I wasnt as far as food goes. During the holidays I lost 7 lbs. Although it took me took months, I LOST weight when people gained weight, I now lose about 1.5 - 2 lbs. per week & I am doing couch to 5k. My philosophy is a mixture between Weight Watchers & Bethenny Frankel.
(part 2 ;)) Not many people have the personality to do such things, so be proud of yourself and go outside enjoy yourself and find what makes you happy to give yourself a good reason to get back in the game! Take care and thank you for giving me that extra mile - I am not sure if that's the right expression so I hope you know what I mean ;)
Honestly Jason, the most happiest i have seen you on here is when you get that gusto to start an exercise program. I havnt seen you stick with it for too long though and maybe im just not tuning in enough to see that, but when you did p90 i saw you happy. When you did the running vloggs i saw you happy. I wish for you to get on an exercise plan. I think you feel empowered when you do. I love your message aka your package! LOL Now make a plan and DO IT! We are here cheering you on buddy!
YAY! Jason, I'm so glad to see you feeling better. :-) I know how you feel.. there's a big difference between knowing how to do something and knowing how to do it within the structure of your life as it is. :-P
Hey from time to time I get to watch your videos and antishays, usually I am not a "comment maker" but I just wanted to say how much inspiration you guys gave me, I hope you'll find your spirit again. I mean you came so far, and reached so much, you really should be proud of yourself. I mean I live around the world (Germany) and antishay and you gave me enough motivation to start changing things about my health for real! .... (part 1 of my comment ;))
Jason, it's certainly very good that you didn't gain weight even though you are going through a rough patch and things haven't been easy. And I do get that controlling how you eat etc. is probably one way of maybe controlling your life, to do the things you're used to even though things are tough. However, you should look after yourself and even stop controlling what you eat if it gets too stressful. Life can be tough, and adding more stress to it than necessary is not going to help.
All in all, I developed my own skinnygirl habits & now I dont feel like Im on a diet. People around me can tell I've lost weight & I feel great. If you be honest w/ yourself, AND focus on building habits, you will get there, maybe not over night, but you WILL get there. You didnt gain all the weight overnight, so it's not gonna disappear over night. If you eat healthier & exercise your body isnt gonna stay at the weight of a person who doesnt do all those things. Be honest & focus on habits.
Go you!!! I gained 30+ lbs on my first month on anti-depressants, no joke. You have done great at basically maintaining for the past month! But seriously, if possible, stay open-minded to the meds. You just haven't found the right ones that work for you. Unfortunately, it's a trial-and-error process and sometimes it takes awhile to find the right med and dose and combo of meds. I'm still searching, with the help of many docs and many trials and doses...
Soooo sorry for the lengthy comment & I hope it helps :) PS I meant to say in the first paragraph that "I slowly but surely found a way of losing weight that at the same time I was ABLE to still be sane!"...my bad :) Good luck!
Just eat sensibly. There's no need to spend money. If you want to use something, count calories - there's a bajillion websites free to count calories on.
You can get several FREE points calculators for WW on your iPhone and track yourself....just google ow to figure out your points and follow the plan yourself, you may need a change in counting calories on Lose It...good luck Jason, I chose to quit anti-depressants years ago. I too would rather have feelings than numb them out~ You can do this!
You could go to a nearby weightwatchers store and buy the plan books and the point calculator and then you don't have to pay the monthly price. That's what I'm doing! Works pretty well. Research some new recipes online. There's a lot of good stuff out there.
Welcome back, Jason. :) You know how to lose weight. You know how to change your diet to get some taste. You lost weight eating whatever you wanted, remember? :) I do. You can do this. You can do whatever you set your mind to. Your TH-cam family is right behind you, and we all love you. -nitteh.
