    Bike shoes? Clip less, peddle fenders or plain shoe? I ride clip less on my touring 🚲 but my casual or electric plain shoe. GREAT 🧦! Thank you for taking us along. Ride On!

      Thanks. Glad you’re enjoying it. I use plain ole hiking trail runners. I’m off the bike exploring so much that clipless just doesn’t work. I bought Diety pedals that have teeth that give you just enough grip to get some pull as I rotate.

    Enjoying ALL your videos. Rwf the rear bag, I got sold on the bike backing bags and did the Hreat divide in 16' and had nothing but problems with mine too, flopping down and hitting my rear tire day two I spent all day stopping and pinching. Most frustrating. Despite extra straps, finally in whitefish got.more straps. But dang a pai. To pack and put on each morning. I'm sure much better rear tail packs than what I had out there, but yup, I've gn3 back to racks. Cheers, hoping to head out from Michigan in a few days to do the GAP out and back first time towing dogs, I'll be slow but I have time

    • @DeniseLookingOut
      @DeniseLookingOut  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah that seat post bag can be a pain but I use it when I’m not carrying my camp setup. I go full panniers for bike camping.
      Hope the GAP was awesome! I tried getting my beagle trained to the trailer. He hated it. He loves front-load cargo bikes. Got my eyes on a deal on one of those.

    Loving this content and doing the research. Any thoughts on doing this on a 20 ish year old recumbent? I am doing the GAP this year with it and looking at your videos and seeing if will work. I have not got through all the videos, but up to day 2 looks doable on this bike

    • @DeniseLookingOut
      @DeniseLookingOut  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. For sure, you could do OTET on a recumbent. The canal section is really the only gravel trail. The rest is paved. You’ll see a trike crew did it even with crazy tree damage. You’re going to love the GAP too. So pretty. I have videos on it too.

    I’m an incumbent trike rider due to health reasons I’m hoping to ride that trail someday. I never rode on crushed limestone before it looks like it would he messy and hard on your chain is it.?Love your videos. Looks like so much fun.

    • @DeniseLookingOut
      @DeniseLookingOut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know trikes that have done the Ohio Erie Canal Trail. It’s only 50 miles that are stone of the total 326 miles OTET. It’s actually crushed pretty good and fast. In rain, it would be a little messy but not as bad as the C&O which I didn’t see any trikes on. But you definitely wanna clean the chain after. Connie, there’s Trike Club on Facebook in Ohio. Might wanna ask those folks about trike specific questions. They’re good folks.

    The Towpath through The Cuyahoga Nat'l Park is an absolute MESS when it has rained. Otherwise, it is fast because it is mainly fairly flat. The Beaver Marsh didn't used to be so overgrown. I wish they would clean it out. You can't see the critters with all the vegetation. I lived in Canal Fulton and you had ice cream at my favorite ice cream place! They make it there and it is the best! Too bad you didn't go check out Brimstone Bicycle shop. Eric would have loved to talk to you.

    • @DeniseLookingOut
      @DeniseLookingOut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ouch that’s a hard Amtrak schedule. You could snooze at the Amtrak Station until you’re ready to roll on the trail. Or find an all night diner and grab an early breakfast then roll. I’d prolly just start riding. I enjoy night riding.

    I really enjoyed the first 2 days of your bike trip. I live near Independence and ride the trail quite often from Cleveland to Rockside and other trails in the area. You can connect up to 12 different trail systems in a 50 mile radius. Driving up Rockside Rd is not recommended but you needed to get to your hotel. The Cuyahoga valley has a hill on both sides so it is pick your poison on what hill to climb.
    Question as I can not find the rest of the day trips 3, 4, 5?
    Great videos and enjoyed the trips to Massillon!

    • @DeniseLookingOut
      @DeniseLookingOut  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi David. Yeah Rockside is no fun. I definitely wanna plan another trip up there and set up a base camp then explore all of the awesome trails. More of that trip videos are coming soon. I squeeze in editing when I can with work and adventuring while the weather’s great. Day 3 coming very soon!
