As a tow company I think this is the best rc tow truck I have ever seen . You could make a fortune selling these and if I ever hit the lotto I'll be calling you . Would love to have it .great job
im an accident recovery specialist in GA i clean up accidents daily. might i say sir, that is a text book perfect roll over. no need to move the truck just snatch block pull release block and drag er up
As both a long time rc guy and tow truck driver....all I can say is......this is truly magnificent work my friend......now all you need is the scale customer bitching about the scale bill and the storage charges and it would be perfect...
I would love to see the step-by-step process of building that Tow Truck, let me just say, that is a beautiful RC and my hats off to the craftsmanship of the build.
Being a former two car flat bed operator, who worked Wisconsin interstate for the sheriff department, I'd have to say you made it look like you've actually worked a real full size tow truck before. Using the snatch block and the flat beds position was dam near perfect. And lifting the pickup truck with the bed tilt to allow you to get the pickup truck squared to the tow trucks bed was spot on 👌 All things I've done a thousand times over the years I've towed. A lot of people are highly surprised at how much you can move / manipulate a vehicle with a snatch block and some chains anchored/pocketed to certain positions on your bed. Nice work and nice video 👍👍
If you had remembered that glass shatters, the drivers window should be gone. Looks like a melted toy in this video. Follow realistic glass crack lines with an X-acto knife on the windshield. After that with the rest of the truck looking this good, it would look very real. Nice work.
The most important thing I noticed in this video is that the e-brake was set and the wrecked truck didn't roll away. And these are RC trucks. Had this been real, we'd be watching another wrecker driver chasing a rolling away truck watching his job slip from his hands lol.
I'm looking to build a 1/8 scale roll back, would love to talk more about how to pieced the electronics and mechanics of the bed. Turning an 8x8 crawler into a tow truck. Also love the sounds. Any help would be appreciated.
I enjoyed your video and it got me wondering on building one but need a figure out how the bed roller work. Do you have any more videos of your build. If not could you me in in the right direction.
Holy shit 1.8 million views. Kick ass dude. I remember years ago being a member of mid mich crawlers on fb and seeing these builds. Is that page still a thing? Haven't been on for in a few years.
Very nice, well done, best tow truck i seen here on youtube.Where did you find that body, i am getting ready to build a tow truck myself but can not find any good body for it, most of them are to small.
Hello, nice flat bed. reminds me when my real Chevy needed a tow :) what is the scale of the international and where are they available, if still. other than that, AWESOME truck. would like to get more details on it. i'm myself a huuuuge RC guy, since more than 30 years. again, thanks for sharing your great idea
thanks for your quick reply, 1/8 scale, a bid big for my 1/14 trucks and cars. gotta get a 3d printer :). keep up the good work, curious what comes next
Where did you find a Durastar cab? I can't seem to find a part for it anywhere, or even a 3d model for a printer Also, it's good to finally see someone who knows how to run a rollback. Too many people just moving things and hoping it looks good
okn this is awesome. i had this same idea to scratch build a rollback wrecker. Im already waist deep in the build. already have my deck made. How did you get the bed to roll back and tilt? is it something you concocted with servos and sheaves, or is it something you were able to purchase whole (like from a rc semi truck or something)? Please advise as this is where Ive currently gotten stuck at

The RC Sniper make some rollbacks. You could sell a hundred before the end of the year. I would buy two today. Nicely done. Mini-j hooks are so small.
Nice to see other tow drivers! Safe driving from CT!
I'm a rollback operator for Mike's Wrecker in Concord NC and that's really cool

The rollback looks freaking amazing!!!!
I like how you use the rigging on the side of the tow truck so you don't have to push it with your hand it really did look realistic
thanks
2 years later. This is still cool as hell.
Awesome tilt deck, nicely detailed. I like how you used the snatch-block to right the pickup :D
thanks
Jonathan G love your shows I watch them every time I get a chance to
I love cars & trucks all kinds of vehicles
A snatch block is typically how that is done.
