The one tank that the endscreen claims you lost is probably the AT LAV you lost. I believe CM counts tank destroyers as tanks on the endscreen. This is an easy issue to ignore in the WW2 titles, when tank destroyers are very tank-like. They are generally on a tank chassis and using a tank gun. But in the modern titles, when tank destroyers are generally on APC chassis and using ATGMs (and therefore not particularly tank-like) it's a much harder issue to ignore.
This made me laugh so hard, lol. I think it mostly comes down from the fact that, historically, the USMC has served as sort of an expeditionary force in relation to the central army.
@@usuallyhapless9481 It's just banter anyway! I wouldn't have even said that if I didn't greatly appreciate the weekly videos. Keep doing you. As long as you're having fun, you can be sure we're all incredibly grateful you're creating!
Great video Hapless! I would love to see a video where you attempt to use the uncons against a human opponent even if for no other reason than I'm tired of you winning all the damn time ;)
@@usuallyhapless9481 Do you think it’s possible to make a balanced scenario? Perhaps a Fallujah style problem where light infantry must clear out built up urban areas with minimal friendly casualties and destruction of property, with a civilian presence that gives the uncons a little freedom of movement?
@@virtuallyreal5849 It's certainly possible. Punishing Blue for exploiting its firepower and giving Red dense terrain to hide in is a good way to do it... the question is whether that is fun for either side!
USUALLY HAPPLESS! Great video! I’ve learned a lot from your videos, but sometimes it’s difficult seeing exactly how you’re maneuvering and positioning your troops. You think maybe you could experiment having a sort of minimap in one of the corners of the entire battle? So we can see exactly how you position your troops? That would help a lot. Otherwise, awesome channel!
Interesting fight. I start to see a pattern here with US forces: air, indirect fire and technological superiority are the key. Would be interesting to repeat with for example French forces.
That LAV-AT getting sniped by an ATGM was completely unnecessary, Hapless. You could have just waited until one of your snipers/hq's had called in a fire mission on that compound, you impatient boy. XD Oh well, the rest of the battle was one big stomp. It was a strong position, but the long calling times and inferior tanks really cost them the battle here. Those snipers really helped, I was surprised they actually hit some of the ATGM teams. This is how they are meant to be deployed; as a screen in front of the main force, scouting out the terrain and the enemy, acting as FO's and sniping any unfortunate pixeltruppen they see.
Are maps too small for modern CM games? Weapons covering near edge to edge make it seem like the area of operations is too small compared to a real CO in this situation.
There's a strong argument that that's the case. On the other hand, the side with the range disadvantage would be daft not to take advantage of terrain that limits line of sight, so battles would probably take place within weapon ranges anyway
@@absolutmauser yes! I think it’s a good thing as the past developers seemed a little stuck in their ways. Games are on sale for 60% off on Steam and I’m sure they might breathe new life into current titles along with development of newer ones!

A T-62 actually shooting first? I think you just killed the best tankmen in the whole Syrian army.
surely is it.
I guess it does happen...

Yeah, it's the LAV. I would have made a big deal about being upset if I lost an Abrams!
I like the concept of the us-marines, they are specialized in this kind of beach landing were the beach ends in the middle of the enemy capital.
The USMC no longer operates MBTs, so I somehow doubt it!

Man the cinematics are getting better with every video, its unbelievable how much work you put into these, thank you

My only problem with your content Hapless, and it's a big one, is that there's simply not enough of it.
That's fair. It's hard to get past the one video a week barrier.

Love how you use Arma 3 for some of the cinematic shots, that just shows the effort you put into making these videos.
I love the narratives you find in these, and the overall breakdowns of the battle.
Thank you very much!
Your combat mission videos are my favorite on youtube.
This was very entertaining, I resently picked up Shock Force 2, Normady and Red Thunder. Thank you for your Videos.
Moral of the story: Never annoy an MBT.
The Syrians clearly didn't read up on what happened during Desert Storm and Abrams outranging the Iraqi tanks.
Jeez those Harriers are terrifying.

Fair enough. I suppose that, as in reality, it would be a very tedious process, especially considering the downtime in a PvP match.

If the LAV-AT wanted to survive, it should stop being bugged :P
What kind of bug is it having? Doing this campaign now.@usuallyhapless9481
I blasted through this mission with all my casualties being units in the spawn being hit with mortars lol.

8:48 Syrians have airburst mortars?
Yes, everyone has them in the modern settings. I think starting from 81/82mm
IIRC even the 60mm mortars have an airburst function in CM
