Passage Frequency
- Likely 1-2 Passages of Assumed Four Passages per Verbal Section
- Usually Involve One Longer Paragraph About a Technically Specific Topic
- Possible Reading Comprehension-Style Content for Integrated Reasoning Multi-Source Reasoning or Two-Part Analysis Questions
Strategic Implications
- Read Carefully and Slowly to Ensure that You Comprehend Possibly Harder Content
- Consider Using Online Whiteboard Textbox to Facilitate Sentence-by-Sentence Passage Map
- Use Initials or Shorthand to Simplify Unfamiliar Jargon or Acronyms
- Synthesize Information and Note Location of Subjects to Better Answer Subsequent Questions
Dense Reading Comprehension Passage Process
Step 1 - Execute a Detailed Passage Map
- Determine Need for a Sentence-by-Sentence Passage Map
- Take a Shorthand Summary Note for Each Sentence as You Go
Step 2 - ID Question Subject & Task
- Determine What to Look for Using Passage Map for Location
Step 3 - Read What You Need
- Read at Least One Sentence Above and Below for Proper Context
Step 4 - Prediction
- Predict What Answer Should Do to Address Question Task
Step 5 - Process of Elimination
- Focus on Actions & Descriptions for Objective Reasons to Eliminate
- Down to Two : Default to Selecting Option with Fewer Direct Terms from Passage and a Less Absolute Claim → Go Bland!
