Seguin Township 2022-2026 Inaugural Meeting of Council with guests from Wasauksing First Nation
Seguin Township’s inaugural meeting of the 2022-2026 Council was held Monday, November 21 in Orrville with a refreshed format that included participation from Wasauksing First Nation.
The Township invited representatives from the First Nation to mark the beginning of a new relationship and the recently-signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two organizations. Renowned singer and hand drummer Jodi Contin of Wasauksing First Nation led the new Council into the building.
The evening included the swearing in of Mayor MacDiarmid and Councillors Ken Adams (Ward 1), Mario Buszynski (Ward 2), Greg Getty (Ward 3), Terry Fellner (Ward 4), Ted Collins (Ward 5), Gail Finnson (Ward 6). After taking the oath, each Councillor addressed the audience and thanked the Seguin Community including their constituents, family and friends.
