When I first started out I didn’t understand people’s obsession with Hoyas or their flowers, but after a while I got my first Krimson princess and from there they started to really grow on me. I have shifted to a different type of crazy now. Too much money later and I proudly own a linearis and a rotundiflora. Maybe they call people Hoya heads because the Hoya invisibly tendrils into your brain and takes over your life. Anyway love these videos soooo much. Appreciate you Summer!

Haha I love the explanation of Hoya's head there.

Are you sure it's a surigaoensis? Mine has gigantic leaves, and yours are more oval. And the leaves, when they are old, are so thick and hard! But they are dark green without any spots and I love it! ❤

@Bebe you know that Hoya is extremely hard and even the hoya experts make it wrong sometimes! But this one I am not sure of, that is why I questing it because it is very different then those I have seen but you never know when it comes to leaves because they vän vary so much on the same plant, depending on growing condition!

As far as I know based on my experiences. The leaves can grow bigger if you give them a trellis, maturity of the plant or if your plants come from a propagation that have woody stems.

It's so easy, super fast grower and the leaves turned red when you give them a higher light. The propagations are easy too! Water, PON, LECA, moss, every medium you could imagine they adapt to all that. Just be mindful of their fast growing so I suggest you should have a bigger space to grow this.

The leaves take on a red hue in higher light. Also the flowers of this hoya are scented of coconut. :)

I'm seriously weirded out that we have a lot of Hoyas in our country (Philippines) but I've never seen any in our garden centers.

Shells Nagy Melykuti Ikr! I’m from Malaysia, where is also the natural habitat of many hoya species and I’ve never seen any of those hoya being sold at the garden centres here! I have to reach out to private sellers/collectors in order to get my hand on one, and they often don’t come cheap!

mealy bugs are nothing but a headache 😫😖😣. some of our hoya carnosa and australis here had been infested on the house of the seller where we get it and some of the leaves are small and curly. We've sprayed it with water and thankfully now they're somewhat gone. I'm just bothered by one of the portulacaria specie that came as a freebie from Baguio, I don't know if I can save it or the mealies might crawl up my other plants. it's full of mealies all over its stem. I've sprayed it with hydrogen peroxide with water and now it's under quarantine.
me and my boyfriend had been into hoyas just this year and we're loving it. we already have around 40+ species and mostly they're all endemic here in the Philippines. we don't have H.Surigaoensis yet but surely along the way. 😀

Hey hi.. my pepromia angulata always drops leaves.. have any idea what causes it ? I tried all kinds of lighting situation and watering methods from light watering to regular moist soil maintenance.. nothing seems to stop the leaf drop. The plant is relatively healthy it still produces new leaves..
