There is such a big difference between the 3D leader models. Theodora and Ramses look like ass while everyone else more or less looks okay or even great. Elizabeth and Nzinga Mbande both look stunning
@@UrsaRyan ikr? I'm getting like t50 40+ prod cities, and once I get IZs up that jumps to like 60-70 by t70-80. That's mote prod than I normally get (unless I'm spawning in desert/tundra and get fast pantheon pick), by quite a while. And by around t100, I'm getting multiple 100+ prod cities. Nothing blatantly broken yet, but definitively got potential for 100+% bonuses to prod once in a blue moon. And it actually goes really well with workshop. (All turn numbers are for standard btw).
Ursa, just a friendly note. Canals can only be constructed on flat lands, while iron can only spawn on hills. Same goes for coal. I think the only resource that competes with canals are probably niter and aluminium.
I just finished an Archipelago game as Elizabeth I. At one point I had a Capital with 6 districts, Hunza suzerainity and a Reform the Coinage Golden Age, which meant that my trade routes to City States yielded around 45-60 gold per turn. Combine that with Owls of Minerva and Barbarian Clans,... things got rather silly
Her ability is such a word salad, but I'll admit it's pretty powerful, but like Cree powerful more than Spain or Portugal. Cut out the flavor abilities, and: "If your first Great Admiral is Renaissance Era or earlier, England gains two trade route capacity. +3 Gold to Trade Routes to City States. Gold for Trade Routes for every district in the origin city."
It is important to note that the "standard ruleset" is an important qualifier on the trade route. Any admirals that were added with the dlc packs (and, I'd assume mods as well) do not trigger the Trade Routes. I have no idea why, but apparently, that is the case.
There's a mod I use that unlocks Canals much earlier in the tech tree ( it's called Earlier Canals iirc ). Makes them a lot more useful in game because they're actually there before most of the fighting is already over.
Noticed you'd have a +6 commercial hub between the harbors in your capital and Manchester. I'd have to build that for the era score and gold, especially since Owls will give you the trade route for the Gilded Vault later too
I did a quick test game with Elizabeth where I was lucky enough to spawn next to Kumasi and get their suzerainty bonus quite early. +4 gold and +2 culture per district from city-state trade routes is kind of insane.
Point of interest, while the Panama Canal plan you put pins down for would connect Lake Windermere to the western sea, it wouldn't connect up London, which is two tiles away from Windermere! That said, if you want to connect London to the Western Sea, you can manage it, although not without with some difficulty. You'd need to Panama London to Lake Winermere. Then canal Windermere to Greenlee Lake. (You'll need to either conquer Mogadishu or culture bomb the relevant tiles off them to manage that). With a future city somewhere in the region of Uleewater lake it's an easy double-canal out from there. Much more effort than I'd ever put into it. But that's true of a lot of stuff you do on the regular 😄
I've been playing with that Got Lakes map script, and it's really cool. You get such chaotic maps, but in a good way. It's the only map script I've ever used because I don't like to play on "gamey" maps that give me an advantage, but that one is good.
Ursa, I know you probably won't see this, but I thought I would post it anyway. You're one of the only Civ 6 streamers I'm subscribed to. I really do enjoy your content and that is why I subscribe, out of all the other TH-camrs I watch who also stream Civ 6. With that being said I would like to add an additional speaking note. You have a habit of relying on "this is my favortie" but have already said there six other things in the same category in 6 of your other videos. As someone who watches, probably all of, your videos they all stand out to me. Each time I roll my eyes and think "But they just said their favorite was ______." I think your dialogue could go along way if you do some research on speech clichés and how to avoid them. For instance, instead of saying something is your favorite every time you enjoy something just say why you enjoy it. Which oddly enough whenever you say something is your favorite, which is the cliché I notice the most in your dialogue, you follow it up with "why you enjoy it" which if you just skipped the cliché and went straight for the meat and potatoes of the statement it would make you a stronger speaker. Just something I noticed. TLDR: Focus on avoiding clichés in speech

Fair comments - I talk how I talk alas, not much I can do about that - and in this case I do keep having new favourites, as my opinion frequently changes as I'm fickle but also there is new stuff that makes me reassess!! I don't like to quantify opinion, it's too subjective :)

Ursa Ryan can make a masterclass demonstration with every leader in existence, I have the greatest respect for that! Regarding Elisabeth I must also say: She's nothing for the more mediocre players like myself. My first attempts on level emperor were all lost causes. By the time her special trade abilities have a real impact, I practically have lost the game due to massive inferiority against the AI in science, culture and military. So for me she's in my bottom three leaders of the "leader pass".
Honestly, I hate how the AI *always* uses their first governor title to put a vice grip on a city-state. Even worse when there are a dozen city states they could choose but they go for the one you were suzerain of and you can't shake them.
My favourite Ursa: Canal simulator Ursa (don't get me wrong, railways are fantastic, but it takes real skill to connect everything with the canals - peak Ursa)
As someone else who lives in Cumbria, all those lakes having the word "lake" in their name really bugs me. I'll allow Bassenthwaite but the rest...grrr.
Honestly of the English leaders she's by far the most underrated to me I really like what she could do if with proper planning. I still prefer Eleanor though but Elizabeth is my clear 2nd favorite

I can tell you from now, put an encampment on Manchester to prevent India Varu's revenge (or just over evaluating IA 🤣🤣), I can see a +6 IZ between two canals and iron mine (becoming +7 with a WP that could hit all the cities in 12 tiles with Mexico city Suz), and you can actually Panama canal London if putting a city on top of luxury bonuses, because with Panama you can have 3 adjacent canal (2 normal canals and Panama) reaching the ultimate city as a conduct to the sea for London 🤣🤣🤣
Re: Ancient Era score - if you had settled just one more city, I think that would’ve done it. You can get era score for settling a natural wonder multiple times, right? I think I’ve done that anyway. I dunno, you’re *my* Civ 6 guru, not the other way around 😅

While I think Elizabeth is pretty decent, I just don't understand why England got two more leaders in this pack. Why not Brazil, or the Netherlands, or Indonesia. Why does England get to have 4 leaders while so many civs still only have 1?

Having your traders unplunderable means that you can declare war and not worry about unexpected drops in your economy if you lose track of your traders. For Elizabeth as well, the sheer fact it's a mercantile city state is HUGE - the Mogadishu bonus is almost the small bit, it's the extra gold from harbours and shipyards that does it!

You can go for a perfect Huey under Bristol. AI tends to go for Huey but surely it's illegal not to give it a crack with your empire.

Having your traders unplunderable means that you can declare war and not worry about unexpected drops in your economy if you lose track of your traders. For Elizabeth as well, the sheer fact it's a mercantile city state is HUGE - the Mogadishu bonus is almost the small bit, it's the extra gold from harbours and shipyards that does it!
