It sadly brings to mind my American History class in 1980s high school -- "...and there was this other guy Thomas Paine who also wrote books against the English. Let's move along...we know Thomas Jefferson invented freedom...Jefferson didn't believe in God, had slaves and died on the same day as John Adams, his bitter enemy...Next week, Abraham Lincoln frees the slaves."
