  • Watching Parliament made easy! My Africa Brings you all the scenes you really want to watch!
Newsworthy, interesting and the funny parts MINUS the boring rest of a long Parliament sitting.
Parliament of South Africa - “To represent the people, and to ensure government by the people in fulfilling our constitutional functions of passing laws and overseeing executive action”. Watch COPE leader Mosiuoa Lekota going head to head with the EFF on Land Reform in Parliament SONA 2018 Debate. *****
The Constitution affords all South Africans the right to see and hear what happens in Parliament.
For the last 7 years and for the benefit of subscribers and the community “My Africa” search for sequences that are newsworthy, interesting, funny etc. From a, sometimes long and boring, Parliament sitting allowing the community the opportunity to choose which sequence they find interesting and want to watch.
As a result “My Africa” adds significant value to those effected by the exceptionally high cost of Data and Pay TV.
Also “My Africa” allows the community to comment and contribute to discussions in a meaningful manner and take stories forward.
However, we will NOT condone the following:
Racism (including offensive comments based on ethnicity and nationality)
    Sexism
    Homophobia
    Religious intolerance
    Cyber bullying
    Hate speech
    Derogatory language
    Comments inciting violence.
We strive to make the TH-cam community a safe and welcoming space for all.

Well spoken Mr. Lekota! I admire your courage for standing up and addressing these issues! I fully support you that we need answers to these questions! Why are these EFF members allowed in parliament if they keep dragging everything into total ridicule, making fools of every single person sitting in the South African parliament? The whole world is laughing at our ridiculous parliament that resembles a kindergarten full of five year olds fighting over toys. Mr. Ndlozi is so funny isn't he? He just cracked the biggest joke in parliament for a long time and now all the other five year olds are laughing. He is so cool. And on top of that, all of this is happening while Mr. Lekota's time is running out... ahahahahaha it is so funny, people are just debating one of the most serious topics in post Apartheid South Africa since 1994, the question whether the constitution should be changed so that government has the right to expropriate all land from all South African citizens without compensation. When government has the right to do this, let's say a predominantly Xhosa ruling party for example, can just take all property from South African Zulu citizens and then after taking everything start renting it back to them and even make a huge profit on the property they just stole!

Nice try. Boors went to land uninhabited, typically, built water systems and the farms from nothing. Now that the farms are making money, all these "owners" appear just because they lived nearby. They're effectively people who see a nice house in the neighborhood being owned by an immigrant and demand it for themselves.

@@HottopicsLegacy if you can tell me where in SA law it says that buying stolen property is a crime, I would believe you, but it's not. Anyway, I was referring to land brought from natives, usually in large swathes like the deal between Piet Retief and Dingane. The problem here came in with differences in understanding of land ownership between cultures. Tribal leaders saw the transaction as a short term deal between them and settlers, settlers saw them as permanent.

This is a mistake, history shows us what a huge mistake it has always been. Do we trust these people who have lead our country into ruin to suddenly make good decisions?
The "people" will not own the land, as we have seen up to now, no deeds will be handed to the people. Government will own the land, the people will work and live on it until they do or say something that doesn't suit the ruling party and they will be kicked off, held hostage if you will. This is how every communist tragedy started.
Inequality is a fact of life, there has always been inequality, it's what drives men to be better so their sons can have a better life. It has driven kings to be kings, queens to be queens. Can you honestly be proud of something you did not work for?

In answer to the below, I am also a citizen and I am also unequal. I work for myself. I do not own property or a car and have little money in the bank. Those people who call me white privileged, well, let me laugh and say, exactly WHAT PRIVILEGE? To the government, I would say, it is about time that you sort out the welfare of this country. There are too many jobless, living in shacks, with no hope at all... It is about time somebody looks at the needs of the community in general and not debate about black or white or whatever, that is only wind and a waste of time. It is the real issues that matter, the issues on street level... We are all citizens of this beautiful country and we all deserve better, especially those who have lived on nothing or little for so long.

He gets a few minutes to raise the most important issue in our country today and is disrupted and interrupted from the ground up to the chair only to be told, your time is up and your mic will be switched of, before getting an answer. Parliament is full of brainless hooligans that don't deserve to be sweeping the streets around that building.

The people is everyone that was previously disadvantaged in the past during the days of apartheid. We have people living in shacks or a family of 8 under one roof, no kitchen only one room while on the other hand we have people who have vast land that they are using as a garden to plant flowers.
The only solution we have is to correct the imbalances of the past and return the land to the people who need it

Every time we take a step forward some people wanna take 3 steps back, i don't want to see what happened in 2010 to repeat it self. if they take that land back what are they gonna do with it because so far those who were able to take it back have turned it into deserts there's no progress happening. people are just being greedy you can't fight to be a CEO of a company just because it's your fathers company and you don't even have the qualifications.
