What he calls "spam" is actually the other player figuring out his weaknesses in play and taking advantage. What he calls "mashing" is doing the same combo a lot, which EVERYONE does in fighting games, including him. He's just pissed off that players get his number and defeat him. And if he's not willing to invest the time to learn how to play, why even play at all? Just because it's new and popular. That sounds pretty dumb to me, but then this is Phil we're talking about.
