Motion control camera crane improvements completed

  • Stop motion animation camera movements are extremly hard to perform. I did it manually in the past and at a point I decided I needed to build something to achieve more freedom and easyness to make them. With no money I made that frankenstein, it works with some issues I tryed to improve on this video. Hope you enjoy.

      youna kim people have a warped perception on genius. Genius is a matter of focus, concentration, determination, and thinking. They pour their life into what they are working on and create something amazing. Anyone can do something considered "genius" but instead opt out for watching useless stuff or consuming knowledge and never actually thinking and learning while solving problems. That's just what I think.

    Thank you so much for generously sharing your great work! It is really an inspiration. I have watched all your videos many times and have learned a lot from them. If you could, would you please explain in detail the wiring of the Microstep Driver ST-M5045 to the Arduino? (I am trying to wire it and seem to have only one direction working) The detailed video you did on the Pololu A4988 was extremely helpful. Also how do you have the 4 stepper drivers connected to the power supply? Again, great work and thanks for giving your time!

    control camera crane is a complete design to animate our puppets or anything you want!! But the hardest system to create this is not for someone with a few things. Muy bueno tu trabajo lastima no contar con estos implementos maquinarios para realizar mis animaciones con las nuevas creaciones que ya estan casi listas..Tu tienes todo para esto y sale a la perfeccion igual yo estoy contento porque al descubrir como hacer titeres de animacion con diferentes tipos de poses es para mi gratificante ya que siempre quise una figura completa y desde que descubri el stop motion me he animado a crear y a animar solo me gustaria saber si puedo animar de una forma super super economica ya que no tengo lo suficiente y montar mis videos de mis trabajos

    • @moracabanas
      @moracabanas 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Te animo a que aprendas arduino. La gran ventaja es que una grua como la suya, profesional, costaría varios miles. un arduino cuesta 10€ los stepper de 5 a 10 cada uno, los drivers puede variar pero en ese rango de precios. la fuente de 30W 25€ porque tengo una igual. los rodamientos menos de 20€ todos junto con los acopladores. Lo que puede que sea caro son los perfiles de aluminio, pero ahi puedes probar más materiales. Con herramientas menos caras que las que usa pero un poco mas de paciencia puedes conseguir el mismo resultado.

    This is immense. Makes me want to get building. How steady is it? Can you reliably move forward and back through a shot and keep shooting?

    • @edupuertasfruns
      @edupuertasfruns  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      For stop motion it is steady, because everything is slow so you don't have strong moves that could make the thing shake. You can go back and forth, provably there is some backlash in some of the axis but nothing too big for us frame by frame.

    Your work on the arduino moco is inspiring Eduard! Im trying to set up my own system and I just wanted to ask you what stepper motor you would suggest for focus. Im thinking nema11 or nema14 with high torgue (1.2-2.5kg.cm) Would that be enough for focusing? Keep it up!!!

    • @edupuertasfruns
      @edupuertasfruns  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!! that really depends on your lenses, some of them are really loose and some very tight. I would go for the nema 14 to be sure, anyways for a focus I would suggest a gearbox or a good stepper driver to allow you more microstepps. Hope you succeed!!!

    Hola Edu.
    sus videos me gefalen good.the deslizante que se coloca en la cámara me ha interesado más cerca. ¿Hay Detaillfotos de las unidades? Debido a que la unidad se compensa grado en el 90 º Me posiblemente instalar esto para mi máquina fresadora CNC con.
    ¿Puedo obtener más detalles?
    saludo

      No sure what part are you refering to, I would say all what I use here aren't strong for a CNC. No estoy seguro de a que parte te refieres, però seguro que ninguna es lo suficientemente resistente como para una fresadora cnc.

      Me refiero a la rotación de 90 grados mientras lo hacían. como se fijan las ruedas?
      En mi máquina CNC Quiero construir 5 ejes, dos son para ser girado 180 grados.

      Hola Edu,
      Gracias por los comentarios. He adjuntado un enlace donde se puede ver lo que quiero decir. Por favor ver Obtener el Annimation a la vez.
      Estoy hablando de el ángulo de la cuchilla. Una vez 180 grados. El otro no lo sé. Me refiero en su proyecto listo la cámara también pivotan alrededor de grados, o?
      saludos Fritz

    hey edu I have a motion head it can make pan and tilt, it has DC motors not step motor today I try to connect to it to dragon frame for it I bought dc motor drivers(L298)but I didnt work.
    I thing here is the problem dragon frame let me connect with 2 digital output one is direction one is pulse but for dc motor driver has two cable for direction also two cable for speed or I make some mistake I didnt solve it can you help me ?

      The easiest would be to use stepper motors.

    Genius, what software are you controlling? How is Arduino's code written? So amazing.

    Sabes si hay alguna manera de control de un stepper con un simple potenciometro sin meterse en arduino? Genial el invento, De donde eres?

      @edupuertasfruns  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Al menos que yo sepa necesitas arduino para los Steppers, pero con un motor dc si puedes controlar con un potenciometro directamente. Soy de Catalunya.

    What lens do you use for stopmotion and can you give me a link to it?

    • @edupuertasfruns
      @edupuertasfruns  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Lord Of The Bricks Productions we use diferent lens for each need. Prime lens if possible if not zoom lens. For brick films I would recomend you a Macro lens. Wich brand do you use, the 60 mm canon lens is nice.

      The most versatile is the 24-105L it is expensive but good glass, if you have a full frame good choice also.

    Is the noise of stepper motors a problem for your job?

    • @edupuertasfruns
      @edupuertasfruns  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, before I upgraded the drivers it was something uncomfortable to work with. Now with the new ones you can see in this video everything is more quiet. Anyway, in stop motion we don't record any audio so, we can use headphones and good music to keep working and have fun at same time!
