Well, the Edmonton Oilers had to win 4 games from the very beginning against Panthers in order to win the Stanley Cup. Now the Oilers have to do it the hard way. I'm a fan of the Montreal Canadiens......but I'd love to have the Stanley Cup return to Canada. I'm rooting for Edmonton and I feel for the team and for their fans. To win 4 games in a row is not impossible but will be difficult. Don't give up !!!
Such a downer presser. Pump up the volume. We will win tonight! its great times in oilers nation,we are in the finals with two chances to tie series. Just win tonight 😊
He's right though. Holloway shouldn't be on Draisaitl's line. Need to tweak the lines. Holloway's speedy, he might better on third or fourth, complement better, bring some speed or complement those lines better. Just a thought, as it isn't working so well as it is.
Oilers have the speed and tenacity to use Scotty Bowman's left wing lock. The traditional forecheck is not working. Panthers D move the puck too well and often trap two forwards.
Barkov’s Dive Kudos to Leon Draisaitl for saying enough is enough! No one wishes to see a player injured by a powerful check. Nor should the Oilers experience a goal against the team while fending off a penalty. Barkov left his head down and took the check. Likewise, a large part of the Panther’s game is applied violence in the guise of “playoff hockey.” Besides, who decides the threshold between a penalty and a “playoff check,” says our very human thrill at the sight of violence. Look, I do not defend dirty hits. Nor does the NHL. They referenced this fact in their statement clearing Leon Draisaitl, from suspension, because “many other more violent hits have occurred during the two games of this series.” Bennet’s “accidental” collision on Connor McDavid comes to mind. No penalty called. Fans could probably name a dirty dozen more. Coach Maurice called it when he said his interview was not an Oprah Winfrey show. In fact he could not criticize the check on Barkov because as coach he would be criticizing the very play, applied violence in the form of stifling checking, which brought the Panthers to the Stanley Cup Final. And, skilled players too. Even so, the Oilers to a player know that to win a hockey game they must give as good as they get. Otherwise they will be numbed out of this series by the Panthers checking. Team Oilers, do not throw the baby out with the bath water. The spirit of Leon Draisaitl’s check on Barkov, really, the Panther’s team, is: “I am not going to take it, No were not going to take it anymore, We’ve got the right to choose, …… .”
Exactly... Draisaitl had enough is how I saw it myself. The Panthers have been playing dirty dirty hockey, and deserve whatever they got coming to them. If they keep it up, I could care a less if one of the Panthers players is taken out on a stretcher to the Royal Alexandria Hospital tonight... I'm not kidding around, because various Panthers players have been playing to injure other players. So f*ck the Panthers... Go Leon Go... Go Oilers Go...
To be sure I do not wish a player harmed but the Oilers must give as good they get to be competitive. I notice that the so called injured Panther players are miraculously recovered. Coach Maurice, in his Panthers interview, was laughing at the mention of the injured returning for tonight’s game. One would think they have to take dives in order to not appear the villain.
#1 centers don’t leave 2-1 games unless they’re hurt or in concussion protocol. Barkov not coming back tells you he was hurt by Draisaitl’s filthy hit. So nice to see him get the game winner tonight.
You will lose tonight but that doesn’t change the fact you are a GREAT coach. For Connor, to be bold enough to kindly get his former coach terminated to bring you in who he was with before he was a pro, is serious love from a player. And trust.
@@HeidiAunins-bx9uy I played hockey for 22 years. In that time, I’ve learned statistics really go far. You have to win 3 games… just to come out ahead.
