    Johny, just for you to know. The guy from the clip in the beginning is Alexandr Tonkov from Russia - ex-mxgp competitor, one of our fastest riders. Enjoy his performance leading in front of Dungey, Cairoli etc at MXON 2014.

      I also put my left foot under the gear selector while seat bouncing for two reasons. You often want to shift up in the air after an obstacle and that's a one more anchor point to the bike to hold you from going over the bars.

    Pin this: You didn't mention staying on the throttle. Very important to drive through with steady throttle to avoid that dreaded Endo.

      i've heard that you're supposed to give it a lil throttle towards the end to not land on you're heard

    OG 60 rider here. Just trail riding now but this is the first time I’ve actually understood the timing and position. There’s many times off road where you come around a corner and see that you need to double but don’t have time. I’m ready now to send it.

    Hey Johnny ive been watching your videos for 11 months now and I like the way you start the videos saying your here to piss people of 🤣
    But I would like a video done about powering out of corners, iam an intermadiate rider and race alot of clubmen level races and i see alot of novice to intermediate riders dont power on coming out of a corner, even on some flat corners we all scared to power on because we always think its gonna slide out.
    But when i watch the experts or pros there power right out of the corner from the entrance.

    Good explanation

  • @MOTOFIENDXXX-jr3qv
    @MOTOFIENDXXX-jr3qv 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    KNOW THE JUMP!!!- Go slow over EACH JUMP "FIRST!!!!"- Some jumps have a lip at the top, or more of an arc than the rest approach up to the top. Once you know the jump (EVERY JUMP), THEN hit them. Johnny's right on how to do this, but I figure you all could use the explanation, so you know how it works (which helps with doing it as well)
    So sitting down, using your body weight to force the shock down farther (which makes the shock shoot back more), IS what makes the bike lift up more in the air- when the shock "shoots back", THAT is what makes that happen, but you DO need to practice this on smaller jumps so you get the feel of it, so you KNOW how to handle and control this- and so you don't do like the guy at the beginning of this video (for you WILL do that if you don't know the jump and "over bounce")- most guys have done that at some point in their riding lives, all the way to the best of them.

    Been riding for 30 years and still have not tried to seat bounce really. The few times I've jumped sitting down I went nose down real quick. Can you learn to seat bounce going slow and not trying to clear a jump yet? Like just a fly out on a table?

    • @human1513
      @human1513 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I will guess the answers is yes regarding starting with a tiny jump or hop.
      I have also have never done a seat bounce jump.
      From the video I am guessing you never did the hip thrust forward so you sat and only loaded the rear suspension.
      I think the hip thrust helps apply your weight to the front suspension also. Thereby compressing the whole bike. Not just the rear.
      If just the rear is compressed it will pop up as it is released but the front does not pop up. So the rear tries to pass the front end. Endo. Ouch.

    • @Johnny_Hopper
      @Johnny_Hopper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      slowngreen yes sir and remember when you stand up at the lip of the jump stand with your weight still over the rear of the bike. The most common mistake is riders stand up leaning forward which just adds in the bike endoing which is never good. Start on a small table out of a corner. I always liked the 50cc track for practicing these techniques. The jumps are perfect size. Let me know how I can help.

      Stand up as the suspension naturally decompresses. You should feel it as it'll start to kinda pop you off the seat. Just remember to grip with your legs and not lean forward or you'll end up like the guy in the beginning lol
