Corey deserved Employee of the Quarter. Glad he was recognized for the excellent work he has been doing. It’s showing in the horses too. My sister is in KY, and she has been touched by the destruction, the people, and the “working together” of the community. Great feel good segment.

Beautiful Team a suggestion; use baby oil or sunflower or olive oil, in those solid manes & tails work it in, leave it overnight or a day or so, repeat, the Matt’s will drop and work out easily! Then wash oil & condition.

Cowboy is gorgeous! I love all horses but I do have a few favorite breeds.
Easy solution for matted manes and tails! It's called pink a human hair product. Will not hurt the horses. We use it for mats to cockaburrs. I didn't spell that right. Lol

I just have to mention how gob-smacked in love with Cowboy I am. He's the type of Arabian I used to love working with back in the day, when I was a live-in groom at a training stable. I used to get all the "crazy" Arabs to start their beginning handling and ground work because I loved winning their trust, and working through their big fears. I learned to deal with this particular temperament with my own Arab gelding, who I got at auction as a hot-blooded, sensitive, reactive, untouched but very intelligent 3 year old. Together we taught each other how to work as a team, and I was able to carry on the lessons I learned with the other Arabs in my charge. I wish I was in a position to be able to adopt a horse now. I'd be filling out the paperwork on Cowboy if I was. 💙
Edit: I'm so very sad to hear that Cowboy had to be humanely euthanized. This just breaks my heart. But I would not want him to suffer, and I trust Doc's assessment of his condition. My heart goes out to HPHS and his former owners. I'm so sorry this happened.

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday. BTW - a product called Cowboy Magic would be great for that matted tail. I was able to completely clean up a tail that matted with it. Took a whole tube and about 3 hours, but it worked great! It leaves the hair silky and smooth.

I have a real soft spot for donkeys and mules. I think they’re so cute and they have the cutest personalities without even trying. It’s easy to fall in love with them.

QUESTION: Did you guys set up a horsey petting area using those pasture pets... where a visitor can pet and take pictures and learn about horse care? Kinda give those pasture pets an important position in the grand scheme of things.

I like Ace! I see he has a BLM brand so he's a mustang--can you read it to find out what herd he was from? Reminds me a lot of the Three Fingers mustangs--they tend to be stout and train up easy. There's an example of a short horse that can carry a lot of weight. Look and act a lot like Canadian horses. Also: I have had great luck with using Cowboy Magic detangler and shine on "hopelessly" matted manes and tails. Use a bunch and let it soak in, and you can start teasing the mats apart. Saves a lot of hair.
Cowboy Magic was my go-to when I lived in Wisconsin where burdocks and the horrible burrs they produce are the WORST mane and tail tanglers. The stuff worked great on my Arabians' very long manes and tails. I've been known to use it on my own long hair. 😏

Hello!!! I have giving you a thumbs up 👍, because when you said you were going to castrate the horses, I was about to turn you off, but I was so happy that your VET, gave a great injection to the horses for the procedure. Unlike the Ranch 66 that stated they will not show the castration due to been gruesome??? So why? If their VET is not giving injections like your VET is then they are committing a cruelty act to a defense less animal. I will never see that program again, but I will follow you !!!🤗
Thanks! Our vet always sedates horses and gives them general anesthesia before castration operation.

Merry christmas to the whole team :) I really love what you guys do and spend monthly to your organisation, but there is one thing that always catch my eye and I'm not happy about it. Please stop tying horses on a fence or something with a rope halter! There are made of a material which can't break so if a horse panics, the halter won't break and the horse might hang himself or hurt himself badly. That's what normal stable halters are made for...I would be very happy to see you making this change. Keep on doing your great work and have happy holidays :)

For matted manes and tails I suggest ‘drowning’ them in ordinary hair conditioner, massage it in and leave it soak for a half hour. Then comb it out, easy-Peasy.
