    Very informative.
    Seems trade is the singular, most impactful activity of the middle ages.

    Very educative documentary. Trade propelled development throughout most of recorded history. Even some wars were a result of trade disputes or attempt by rulers to conquer flourishing kingdoms. This is great and inspiring work.

    I really wonder what it must have cost to take religion from the Igbos to every end and corner in Nigeria if it was firstly accepted because of the dominating power it seemed to provide for the Benin kingdom. I Absolutely love this video and I hope there'll be another comprehensive filming for Islam and its emergence. Welldone!

    Now, I can boast of knowing how Ajayi Crowther came back and the Obas of Benin way before Ovoramen. This is quite educating and insightful, I especially like the objectivity and choice of words of Dr. Akande (he's so fine too😜). My favorite statement in this documentary is "christianity has continued to fight for a right of place in our collective consciousness."
    Great compilation and video quality (not that I expected any less from Kam) but this is by far an amazing watch😎. Thank you for the knowledge.

    Great work. Apart from the fact that that this video is very informative, I really love how it has been put together, the background music and the pictures really brought it to life.
    Dr. Akande really knows how to bring history to life. Such vivid descriptions. My jaw dropped at 200-400 naked people. That must have been one service to remember. 😀
    Looking forward to your next video. 🙌🏽

    Very Edo/Benin are interested in this your history career, still move on to research in Benin Palace or to see Benin Actor Imasuhen for more updates on how Ancient Benin Kingdom Empire on how the word Christianity started in Modern day Nigeria. Ancient Benin Kingdom were Jews from Ancient Egypt. They ones had an Oba who was a Priest and sailor that attended Priest hood seminary in Rome ( Oba ( Orohogbu). Obi of Onitsha is one of the Oba of Benin son. Move forward to research

    Very informative. But I think Ajayi Crowder was not the first Black Bishop in human history as stated by Dr. Deyemi Akande. I think the Algerian descent (modern Souk Ahras in Algeria) Saint Augustine could be classified as one of the earliest bishops of the Patristic era. St. Augustine was the bishop of Hippo (now Annaba, Algeria) from 396 to 430.

    Catholicism was weak, Anglicanism saved West Africa

  • @MWah747
    @MWah747 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, it definitely was not by white colonists. Christians who were before Islam (way before) were Nigerians who have been since the beginning of the early church. Just as Ethiopia. If Catholicism exists in Nigeria then the white man can certain be blamed for that but, early believers were Africans too and had the truth and teachings of Christ even before many of the English. The Bible itself speaks of this. Not only Christianity but, many were people of the Torah as well.
