Today we will be walking in London Greenwich with the famous observatory which had a major role in the history of astronomy and navigation. We will walk through Greenwich Park, where you can see autumn leaves then pass by the Queen's House Museum and the Old Royal Naval College, visit Greenwich Market, and then head for the Thames. Enjoy the view of the historic city with the relaxing sounds of rain.

I always love it when video inspires me to look things up. This video got me asking "Why was Greenwich chosen for the Meridian? "
As I found out it was only an arbitrary name given by countries to establish a point of navigation and in reality it could be anywhere.
London was eventually chosen in 1851 after some countries like France and America questioned it.
We always know it from the names of Harrison the clock maker who made the most accurate clocks in the world for the Admiralty but never got rewarded for his lifetimes work.

Sitting here on a Saturday night in November in New Hampshire, U.S., enjoying a walk in Greenwich. This was so much fun - thanks for taking us to the Market. It's fun, and yet a bit frustrating, kind of like a kid walking with their parents, wanting to go look at something but they walk right on past. :) Glad we got to try the fudge though, the fudge that WASN'T soap. Thanks for an enjoyable evening.

What a wonderful and atmospheric walk today in rainy and foggy London! Probably with the upcoming lockdown, we won't be able to see walking around much anymore? Hopefully soon again and in time for the festive holiday season! Keep up the great job you are doing and stay well and safe!
That is not fog .
It is just heavy mist !
( Fog is a thing of the past when coal fired chimneys were spewing
out thick black smoke etc. )
Coal fires are no longer common in London and most of UK !
They are classified as ‘ smoke-free ‘ zones nowadays !

Bonjour Sanpo, une nouvelle découverte pour moi, Greenwich et son observatoire, son parc, son collège, son musée de la marine, Queen's house, et tous les monuments, nous avons hâte de visiter tout cela. Je constate qu'il y a des personnes qui ont bravé la pluie pour profiter des derniers jours avant un reconfinement. Le marché est bien sympathique et donne envie de s'y perdre, et les fudges devaient être délicieux. Le Cutty Sark est une merveille de bateau à trois-mâts. Il doit y avoir de beaux endroits au sud de la Tamise. Je compte sur toi Sanpo pour nous les faire découvrir, quand la situation sanitaire ira mieux. Merci encore de nous faire voyager dans cette belle capitale et surtout prends soin de toi. 😊😉

I forgot turning on the audio on my first walk and didn’t realise for 30min. I had to go all the way back to the start and walk it again lol 😭
@@sanpostroll2107 Ohh wow! You could also have put some music in the background. Maybe if it happens next time. I also forgot to turn on my microphone for my first TH-cam video ever (the walking route) so I had to edit it with a lot of music. And then we went back to just record the beginning and the end with audio (it was so bad because I actually talked a lot during recording but yea... :P)
