    Part 11: • Cassidy on R. Kelly's ...
    Part 13: • Cassidy on Griselda Ge...
    Part 1: • Cassidy Doesn't Think ...
    --------
    In this clip, Cassidy revisits his criticism of mumble rappers before stating why he likes to put an emphasis on bars and lyricism. Moving along, he talks about some of the things that he appreciates about mumble rap, such as the vibe it can provide in different settings where people aren't necessarily in the mood to dissect lyrics. This prompts a discussion about fellow Philadelphia rapper Lil Uzi Vert and his success with "Just Wanna Rock." From there, he talks about why he's happy that hip-hop is becoming more original than it once was. He also talks about how the business side of hip-hop has stifled creative development in rappers. Lastly, he talks about why he likes to listen to music by Moneybagg Yo.

    As quiet as it’s kept, this is extremely mature of Cassidy. Anybody who knows about Cassidy knows he loves battle rap and straight bars!! So for him to say this, especially about Lil Uzi says he’s grown a lot as a man and a musician.

In my opinion it still matters. I can understand poetic loops and bending of sounds like Eminem which is also a genius. But talking about shooting and how women are hoes over a happy beat is laughable. I am always aware of what I'm listening to. But some people go through life with out reading signs which is why a stop sign is associated with red. This how simple minded alot of individuals are. See, you finally get it. It takes time. I had to learn the same thing, but for R&B music. What was poppin' 30 years ago ain't poppin' right nah. We're getting older and we're kinda stuck in our own ways. Tha youf dictates what's hot and if mumble rap is what they want then so be it. We've had our turn. And see, this is why I always go on record and express the importance of balance and variety. We grew up during a period of balance and variety. Brand Nubian, Kris Kross, DJ Quik, Arrested Development, Naughty by Nature, Ice Cube, Mr. Scarface, etcetera. That batch of artists/bands highlighted the variety we had. Radio and video platforms played all of them equally (balance). Nah, don't get me wrong, I _cain't_ stand mumble rap, trap, drill, etcetera, but...don't nobody care. It ain't about me no more. I've had my turn. It's all about what these kids want, yo. Ain't nobody tryna hear no doggon bars in the club. Here it is, Friday night, the mood right and I done got on somebody table because they playin' my jam and then all of a sudden, I hear some doggon bars and punchlines. I ain't tryna be in no club w/ a doggon thesaurus tryna figure out what's goin' on. The average American ain't that deep. The average American wants easy breezy entertainment. The majority rules.

      No. He just pretty much said dudes like uzi aren’t rappers…..and that’s fine…nobody wanna hear Through The Wire in a club. But “I wanna rock” will make your break stuff. Which is a good thing. So stop comparing

    Why can’t they give it another genre? Why it gotta be rap because it’s a black man making music?
    I’ll tell you why… someone has to introduce it as a new form of music. It was called rap by us so it is up to us to give it another category.

  • @Maine_87
    @Maine_87 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cass focuses only on bars and punches but ignores all the other attributes of music. He hasn't advanced at all as a rapper. Same flow. Same delivery. Same everything. And he raps slow so it makes it easier to make bars punch.

    • @hooligan5381
      @hooligan5381 ปีที่แล้ว

      his flow and delivery he prolly can't change. flow usually goes with how you speak he speaks slow so of course his raps will be as well. jay-z talks choppy so he can flow and switch up the way he can
