I've done it. I used Tarte. When doing it try to use daylight. Helps a lot. I had the same issue the first times. One side would be either patchy or darker but it is a matter of trail and error.
Rae Kelsch you can still get a fake tan. Or if you want, you can do the opposite, mix Lemon, Honey and yogurt and put it on the areas you usually put your highlighter. This works like the tantouring but for highlight, you can also use both.
Valentine Sugar lemon is actually kinda dangerous for your skin (think about what it does to your teeth) especially around the eye area. It will dry you out and age the delicate skin.
