  • Cleaning up trees that blew over in the storm. May leave the stub that stood back up for the woodpeckers.

That one cut you made over your head made me nervous! It came down hard.

From the camera angle, it looked closer than it was. It landed 4ft from me.

Nice work. Don’t believe I’ve seen the track loader before. Lots of big cottonwoods in my area. They do kind of slow the bank erosion along the creeks.

    • @BertsCustomCuts

We used the track loader to scoop up gravel at Chris's old woodyard.

It's wild seeing that much water pouring out of that tree, like a sugar maple cut in March.

Bert that looks like a cotton wood , it’s a shame to loose some of the crop because of a blow down.

Back in the early to mid 2000's when I cut firewood I use to love getting calls from farmers that a tree was either dead along their field or a big oak tree blew over. They wanted me to wait till after harvest but that was fine by me because I could drive along the field to get close to my work.

    • @BertsCustomCuts
      @BertsCustomCuts  หลายเดือนก่อน

Most of our fields can drive around to get to trees anytime. It's not the greatest tree for firewood, but theres a few dead ash trees along there to take down.

You still have that Buddy willing to burn Cottonwood in his boiler or have you guys covered him up in the stuff already? I would leave it right there in the woods myself! Not a fan even for camp wood. It is hard to focus on firewood with fish that close!👍

He's a complainer and complained about the free wood we have given him. We offered him to come and we would load him up withthe basswood and cottonwood we have here from tree jobs. He is to lazy and doesn't want to have to cut it.

@BertsCustomCuts there's near 6,000 scattered around the world.
One in good shape, can pound a wood mizer in the ground production wize..
      With less people.
      .
      The original company in Oregon.
      Under new ownership.
And another company in Texas, duplicating the mills.
      There all yellow, not orange.
I worked for the company for 1.5 years before the original owner put it up forsale. Are first one was made in 73 the one we have now was made in 92.
      .
I seriously considered buying the hole company, but I didn't have any backing
      $$$$ wize. Or property.
But Tones of knowledge, been around them all my life.
If I have the time to do another cross country trip, I want to swing down to Texas, as he's definitely interested in having me stop by, if I'm ever passing through NE area of Texas.
Somewhere around the crossroads of US 82 and 259 highways.
