I remember reading in an art book about her character design; they talked something about her skin-tight suit allowed her great flexibility and mobility. Heck, even her character art often includes the highlights on. But that is definitely not why I liked playing with her haha she was fun and fast.
This one was even funnier than usual. I'm not sure what had me laughing more between the chesticle squeezings, infinite cake crack and frightening elbow nubbins. Don't ever change man. And hope you have a awesome Christmas!!
They did a pretty good job on her but I agree on some of the odd proportions. I don't really mind the chest thing since I think it was like that in the games. One of my favorite aspects of the games was the create a fighter mode. Looking forward to seeing you review more character figures from the series as well

Another way to handle the bodysuit would be like Figma how did their Table Museum Statue of David where it’s a thin rubber plastic material that cover the middle and lower torso joints that looks unbroken but still flexes.
Both are great looking characters. If they Make Nightmare, they need to make Siegfried. Sophitia has been a mainstay every since SoulBlade (Soul Edge).
I'd say this Taki is a solid 7.5/10. Storm (and other companies in general) usually have issues when working on female characters: sometimes it's the faces, sometimes it's the articulation or sculpt. I'd say STORM has improved on the faces when compared to their Street Fighter females but inexplicably did Taki dirty when it comes to her lower body. Hopefully they get it fully right in the future.
All the SC ladies received size upgrades going from the first to the second game and onwards lol. Ivy went from a D cup to like a J 😂 The designers must have played some DOA2 between games
her first appearance was in soul edge..and you could see her areolas...lol. yeah they made her a little thick in the middle....she needs to be a little thinner and have slightly longer legs. its ok overall to me though. what i wonder is if they will make Voldo.......i want a Voldo.
I think you point on the abdomen waist area being incorrectly proportioned is the main reason I passed on this figure. Also, is the red part of the suit textured or is it just smooth paint?
14:01- "that's a crevice right there!" killed me! haha storm figures have always been suffering similar engineering issues, which is why i tend to avoid them. looks like a good figure all around though.
I'm glad to see Storm do more female characters, and making some advancements in functional articulation (ie ankles), but the waist and broad shoulders kill the likeness of this figure for me. At this price point I expect better...

To me she is okay, her design is kinda bland to me personally but then again I am an Ivy guy. Regardless I'll still buy her just to support them to continue with soul Calibur figures because getting any figure of these characters is rare and I want more.
I don't have any problem with her nipples. Her super skin-tight outfit is her trademark. But I agree about the poblems with her proportions. Her thick waist and small head combined with her big boobs and overly bulky shoulder armour makes her look too chunky. She's supposed to be fast and agile. I had a similar problem with their Chun Li. Her huge hands and feet, and general stockiness were not quite what I want from a Chun Li figure. (Not really a fan of the SFIV or SFV style.) The Jada version was much more my style and price range. I did have Taki on preorder because I'm a SoulCalibur fan, but I cancelled because of finances. However, I'll still keep an eye on Storm's output, because I've been waiting for any sort of articulated Ivy figure for 20 years.

When I look at the promo images when it first release, it look different from what I see here. Her body overall is wider than her head. Especially her abdomen. Not sure about the paint, from afar, it does looks like a prototype or knockoff. Tha paint on her jacket is like half-as*es job. 😅 Like, not finish. I really love her in the game, since she is one of the most versatyle character and have great bo*... I mean, moves. But one thing I'm afraid to order this figure, is because of that stretchy diapers thing. It's good if you need to pose it once or twice, but when you display it for a long time, does it affect the mold of that diapers? Has anyone ever got that problem? Let me know.
i never thought we'd surpass dc and marvel's ridiculousness when it comes to spandex suits, but here we are. this design actually just looks like they painted part of her skin red to be able to show off the uh... assets, lol.
Honestly I like Taki's design overall, but the bits poking out is weird to me. I do like her fighting style too since she's been one of my mains in the past. Here's hoping we get a Setsuka sometime soon.
I’m not sure what was up with the boob and butt mechanic on this figure, but nevertheless it is a pretty unique figure. Could it have done better, sure, but overall nice figure. Still, there’s always the option of mixing and matching different figure parts
I received mine yesterday, and I kinda hate it. Somehow, this figure is just NOT SEXY as I expected it to be. How the hell did they botch her proportions? Loose Collector and Figma are the ONLY companies that make attractive female body sculpts, IMO.
Biggest flaw is obesely the price being that they are worth over $100 and that finally we have soul calibur figures being a hardcore fan and I’d wish third party’s would do it rather for over hundreds
Taki is a great character, but storm kinda failed her here. She's soo wide, like how ps3 stretched all their models. To be fair storms stretch most of their figures sideways. Just happy we finally get a "storm's 1/2" scale figure.
Maaan....I am sooo biting my tongue, here. It's virtually a parody figure....right? It looks even more blatant/risqué for being more flat/plain than the actual detailed render in the game.

In Soul Calibur 1 on Dreamcast and Arcade, Taki had a normal sized chest and didnt look like she was from DoA
