Damn i miss the Time when there was free Software around. I downloaded the Software and tried to repair my video but could only watch a Preview and not save the Video without paying for it which is something that wasn´t mentioned but i was not surprised. It´s good that i could see the preview because it showed me that it doesnt work anyway.
All methods still haven't worked is there anything else to recover the clips? When I open my memory card there is two clips out of the 24 that still work then the others have the QuickTime logo. Ive tried so many options including everything you just explained. Thanks

Wanted to recover one 3 minute corrupted video, which it did but I have to buy the top package for £118.97 for the year which is too expensive so I didn't go ahead with it. You should have an option for customers who want to recover just one file/video. I bet you will gain more sales this way.
So, i have the problem that i used OBS recording software to record af conversation on mu desktop, at the compression was to MP4, they warned in the app, that if there would be some kind of issue with my PC, that would interrupt the recording, the MP4 file would become corrupted. I am now trying to fix the file, because it wont play. I have tried everything, VLC Player, Kernel Video Repair, Yodot MOV repair, and soon Wondershare Video Repair, but nothing seems to be working, that this clip is REALLY important to get fixed, so do you eventually know any other steps i can do to fix it? A few months ago my video files, regardless of whether they were saved to my laptop, or still on an external hard drive, or saved from my channel onto my installed "4k VIDEO DOWNLOADER" software, they are all playing off color and as if the zoom setting was as close as it could get. Earlier today I DID try the technique you suggested on VLC but it did not work. The one thing that I DID learn since this problem arose a while back is that when I pull up a video through VLC, it plays perfectly; the only issue is that I don't see a method in which I can transfer my clips from VLC to my editing software in order to create a YT video. I have yet to find any tutorials from someone who mention this type of issue. I am using WINDOWS 8.1 for now and am assuming that it is the media player but I am not certain. Regardless of the fact that I need to upgrade soon, I still need to find a remedy for this problem. I am hoping maybe you or any of the viewers can shed light on this for me. Thanks
I purchased the recover it app and try to recover my deleted GoPro videos but it's not working the videos says the quick player Can't perform playing the file. I don't know what's going on and I paid a lot of money for the app but still didn't fix my problem. And not to mention the videos that was deleted was just few hours ago but why I can't play their recovered video using the recoverIT app.
This is working for me - Open Adobe Media Encoder, in the media browser, find the files you're having trouble downloading from your DVD. Right click them and the select "Add Item to Queue". Now it will show a loading bar as it gradually loads the video file from the DVD into the app. (It might take a while for it to finish loading.) After it finishes loading, it will show a blue bar underneath the icon of that video file in the media browser, click & drag that video clip from the media browser into the folder you want to download it to. Hope that works for ya. I think Adobe Media Encoder ignores the errors and also seems to take its time loading up the files and then when you drag and drop it, it's already loaded into the app so it copies it quickly and correctly.
Is it possible to repair the video plus it's audio?, this is after recovering footage from a formatted SD card and the video files(mov.) aren't playing and after repairing it with wondershare, the videos are repaired without their audio, so is their a way to recover/repair both the video and it's audio?
The first repair suggestion did not fix my file. Renaming my file to ".avi" does not change the file type on my system. I'm on Windows 10. Any other suggestions to change file type?
Wondershare worked for me with advanced repair, thank you. The footage was a bit jittery but it was all there unlike other solutions; which none other worked. VLC did not work at all for my situation. Kernel Video Repair which was not able to restore the audio only very jittery video. Tried to get help from tech no help, they disconnected from chat. Easeus video repair tool kept scanning everything beyond the file I needed repaired; don't even bother. Wondershare should allow the file to be downloaded rather than a small file that allows downloading. I always like to have backups for quick reinstall if ever required.

Because you need to choose mkv format for recording, not mp4. Mp4 is for screen recoding on desktops, preferrably with UPS, but not for handheld battery powered devices. You can convert to MP4 later, but the original recording is to be done in MKV.

If I were you I would first try to copy the flash memory sector by sector with file (data) recovery software to another disk, then on that disk try to restore the file. Then try a few video players ensuring that all necessary codecs installed, then try some video repair software packages to work with the file, then try opening the file in various modern video editors, try extracting the video track, maybe then try some video format converting software to covert to another format and try to play it, and see if anything works. But if the video track has all zeros, I don't think anything can be done. If this is very important you can consult and send your flash memory to a professional data recovery company, but that would cost money.
OMG!!! Thank you sooooo much! During a shoot, I inadvertently formatted my micro SD card with 16 irreplaceable video files on it. I've spent 2 full days trying to recover them. I was able to get the files off the memory card but all the codec information was stripped out so they couldn't be played or viewed. Good video in explaining how to recover a file with VLC. I followed the directions and it didn't work, so I tried RecoverIt. didn't work for me. used advanced added sample file and it "fixed" fast and file still dead. The camera when it actually died of bat said attempting to recover and a fail message saying corruptions so I think its broke... all i have when I test the file is loud static and fuzzy images
Whoah, the VLC trick worked! Thank you!! (It was a Twitch Stream that I downloaded. At one point something was wrong. Video editing programs would crash when exporting it, and the video wouldn't play past a certain point)

I was wondering if you had any input, I was on wondershare editing a montage and I had to add a voice over that I couldn’t do on wondershare and the app glitched so I saved the video to my files then restarted my PC, when I opened up wondershare again it said the file is corrupted and it won’t even let me click on it in my files, it didn’t save properly and I just spent 5 hours editing it. My files couldn’t even be recovered using the advanced repair option, is it a lost cause? It was a capture .mp4 file from a PC, transferred by USB to a Mac, 8 of the videos on the USB run fine, and the other 20 are corrupted but they run fine on my PC. I tried converting to .mov but the conversation software can’t even read the file due to the damage, so then I turned to repair. I used stellainfo to repair the files, then after 20 of them got scanned, all were “severely damaged” and needed advanced repair, but even after advanced repair I wasn’t able to save the file. I might just have to start over.

Thank you so much for this video - I had deleted footage by accident off of my SD card BUT was able to recover some of the footage with a tool called Disk Drill - however, the mp4 files didn't play on anything, VLC, M player, etc. Your tool DID work and played my videos after the advance scan!! I was so relieved! But when I saw all of the previews I was so disappointed, the recovered files were all of the wrong videos, meaning that the recovered video files were not the ones I wanted. Meaning that those videos I wanted are gone forever. Ah well. Only wanted to leave a comment for those wondering if this tool works: yes it absolutely does! It appears you have missed a method: while following your second method, it was the act of copying them from one location to another that made them playable - I'm using Windows 10 - quite strange that this fixed them

Then try a few video players ensuring that all necessary codecs installed, then try some video repair software packages to work with the file, then try opening the file in various modern video editors, try extracting the video track, maybe then try some video format converting software to covert to another format and try to play it, and see if anything works. But if the video track has all zeros, I don't think anything can be done. If this is very important you can consult and send your flash memory to a professional data recovery company, but that would cost money.
OMG!!! Thank you sooooo much! During a shoot, I inadvertently formatted my micro SD card with 16 irreplaceable video files on it. I've spent 2 full days trying to recover them. I was able to get the files off the memory card but all the codec information was stripped out so they couldn't be played or viewed. the recoverit software seems to have worked for the video, but in the preview the audio is messed up and only has audio in 1 second intervals. is this the preview doing that or is the audio still corrupted?

So, I got the Wondershare, and I got confused since you didn't tell us what to pick, the "Video repair" or the "Advanced Video Recovery" (Unless I didn't hear, stupid me) so I randomly and STUPIDLY picked "Advanced Video Recovery" and realized I picked THE WRONG ONE, now I exited out of "Advanced Video Recovery" and it said for me to wait patiently, it's been a day and it's still there, I really wanna fix my video, I'm desperate, what do I do? (I tried exiting out of it and pulling it open again but it still said it was still running and I couldn't do that)

I had video I filmed aboard the submarine Nautilus I didn't know any of the footage you got corrupted until after I finished making the video and by then I had already gotten rid of the original video files, the video is on TH-cam but the only portion of it that corrupted its what was actually filmed aboard the submarine but either way I don't know if there's a way to fix it or if it can be fixed now

Hi, I've tried your software for a corrupted video from an SD card after the camera did not save the video successfully. The SD card looks full, so it seems that the video is actually on there, but it won't open or play. I tried advanced repair and it is stuck at 99% twice. Any help?

Good video in explaining how to recover a file with VLC. I followed the directions and it didn't work, so I tried RecoverIt. That worked, it showed me 10 seconds of the successfully recovered file and then said I had to buy a license to use the software. I only want one file. So. Can't buy the software for one video.

I have an issue with some video files I recorded with my GH5. When I go to play them it states: "Error-2041: an invalid sample description was found in the movie". Some people have suggested that it's a meta data issue with the files. didn't work for me. used advanced added sample file and it "fixed" fast and file still dead. The camera when it actually died of bat said attempting to recover and a fail message saying corruptions so I think its broke... all i have when I test the file is loud static and fuzzy images

Whoah, the VLC trick worked! Thank you!! (It was a Twitch Stream that I downloaded. At one point something was wrong. Video editing programs would crash when exporting it, and the video wouldn't play past a certain point)
How long did it take to convert? how long was the streaming ? how big was the size of the file ?
@@donlucazz a big file, maybe 20gb. 720p. Not sure the length. The time was short, like 5 minutes or so. I didn’t take notes so I’m not completely sure
I was wondering if you had any input, I was on wondershare editing a montage and I had to add a voice over that I couldn’t do on wondershare and the app glitched so I saved the video to my files then restarted my PC, when I opened up wondershare again it said the file is corrupted and it won’t even let me click on it in my files, it didn’t save properly and I just spent 5 hours editing it. Is there anything you can say to help or am I going to have to re edit it :(
My problem is some of my MP4 files and any files I have recorded with OBS since this started. Don't have preview images with them. So I have no Idea what the recording is of, until I play it.
My files couldn’t even be recovered using the advanced repair option, is it a lost cause? It was a capture .mp4 file from a PC, transferred by USB to a Mac, 8 of the videos on the USB run fine, and the other 20 are corrupted but they run fine on my PC. I tried converting to .mov but the conversation software can’t even read the file due to the damage, so then I turned to repair. I used stellainfo to repair the files, then after 20 of them got scanned, all were “severely damaged” and needed advanced repair, but even after advanced repair I wasn’t able to save the file. I might just have to start over.

Thank you so much for this video - I had deleted footage by accident off of my SD card BUT was able to recover some of the footage with a tool called Disk Drill - however, the mp4 files didn't play on anything, VLC, M player, etc. Your tool DID work and played my videos after the advance scan!! I was so relieved! But when I saw all of the previews I was so disappointed, the recovered files were all of the wrong videos, meaning that the recovered video files were not the ones I wanted. Meaning that those videos I wanted are gone forever. Ah well. Only wanted to leave a comment for those wondering if this tool works: yes it absolutely does! Thank you guys for making such a wonder of a tool! I will certainly keep it and upgrade if I ever need it again in the future! :)

Michael, I have another problem. I recorded some footage at a concert last night. Each segment is less than 5 minutes long. I am trying to upload to FB. It takes a little while but that is not the issue. When I go back to my gallery, the video won’t shut off. I have tried everything to turn it off. It appears you have missed a method: while following your second method, it was the act of copying them from one location to another that made them playable - I'm using Windows 10 - quite strange that this fixed them
I converted it with VLC media to avi so i coild open them in sony vegas now there all 1 kb no idea what to do

I've used Recuva as a free option for finding deleted filed. Pretty push button go functionality.
VLC doesn't give me the convert to AVI option anywhere.
Hi Nate, please upgrade to the latest version of VLC player.
Only hit Convert. On the new version don't hit convert/save like he recommends. That is the only way i could get it to save to an AVI file.
