For guys that dont work on the big stage, you really know your stuff. I can't wait for this season to get here.
Love when these two get together. For both Michigan and Ohio State, I think almost everything hinges on the QB play. If Howard is very good then OSU will be in the Natty game. If not, they will get knocked off in a playoff game. If Michigan QB play is bad to below average then they could lose 4 or 5 games. If Michigan QB play is well above average (better than expected) then automatically pencil Michigan in as the only team to make the playoffs the last 4 years in a row.
I think only michigan fans think they can win 10 plus game with the roster, staff, and schedule they have this season. Most websites gave them 8 to 9 wins max for a reason. Hey I wish them luck but might be a rough one for Michigan.
@@brettk9316 9 wins is probably most likely for Michigan. Like I said, if QB play is much better than expected then it’s automatic. They will win at least 10 games, IF the QB play is better than expected. People don’t understand that we will still have a top 5 defense, easily, and the O line will not drop off much. There are O line guys that have been training and getting coached with our top lines for 4 years now. The O line will be fine. RB’s are lights out. No meaningful drop off at RB even with Blake gone. Best TE in all of college football and the receivers are underrated. The only real question mark is at QB. That’s why the range is anywhere from 7 to 11 regular season wins. Have no idea what kind of QB play we will get.

In terms of a national champion being picked 4th in their conference the following year, how about the most recent LSU national championship team? What position was predicted for them in the SEC the year after they won the championship and Joe Burrow departed? Bleacher Reports in 2020 picked Alabama and Georgia as the top 2 and LSU as one of a group of 4 "2nd tier" teams.
I'm all Hope and Optimism re college football. Plus it's election year - let's hope we get a regime change and can once again soon afford CFB game tickets and NOT spend all our $$ on just surviving.

Mich is replacing their whole staff, new starting QB and a whole new Oline and the NCAA may be giving them a post-season ban any day now..if they were wearing another jersey Steve would have them as a 4+ loss team missing the playoffs.
I’m a lifetime die hard Buckeye but it’s hard not to like Steve. He’s so intelligent. Yeah, he’s biased like the rest of us, but he does his homework. What he’s not factoring in, is a 100% turnover on the coaching staff. Yes, good pick ups in the portal, yes, depth returning even if they’re 130th in returning production, and yes, the corner, safety, 1 lb and 2 incredible DT’s return, but to think they’ll knock off the Bucks with what they have coming back, and with this new guy as the OC (lol), I just don’t see Michigan competing this year. Especially when we spotted them by 7, and lost by 6 in there house last year. We’re a right tackle away from incredible. But I guess that’s why you play the games.
He's actually very objective. I hate this narrative that every single fan of a team cannot be anything but biased. Some of us are actually honest and objective in our analysis.

But you pick out one little thing that you disagree with and it was worthy of a comment? If you think he’s not biased you’re a silly person. What is objective about picking your team who is #130 in returning production and doesn’t have one single position coach, or coordinator returning to their previous responsibility, going into Columbus and winning. I’ll wait.
@Johnny_3_Putt my sensibilities are fine. You called him biased, as if that's not some negative quality for a sports prognosticator to have. I simply pushed back on that idea, and that makes my sensibilities delicate? What does that make yours if your reaction to my opinion was no different??
@Johnny_3_Putt we recruit well and develop better than anyone in the country. Michigan has reloaded and gotten better every single year for the last 3 seasons, culminating in a NC, and there's still room to improve. The core staff remaining all still support the player led culture extremely well, and the DC they hired is literally the architect behind the defense that Michigan has been terrorizing the league with for the last 3 years. He is nit some brand new coach to the school and neither is most of the staff, nor are the players as they actually saw plenty of meaningful snaps during key games against PSU, OSU, Alabama, and Washington.
You think Steve is just making his predictions out of thin air? He knows what he is seeing on the field, unlike you casuals that might watch only 3 or 4 games of your favorite team because your wife doesn't respect your time and hobbies.

4 divisions of 5 teams
You always play your 4 teams in your division plus all 5 from one of the other division (rotates) so still 9 conference games
With 100% head to head within these annual pairings you end up with 2 teams for Conference Championship game and you play everyone in 3 years.
The way its assigned you also keep the original 10 in two divisions....so every 3 years its old big 10 playing like days of old
A) osu, mich, msu, ind, Purdue
B) Iowa, minn, Wisconsin, ill, nw
C) PSU, Maryland, Rutgers, X, X
D) SC, UCLA, wash, Oregon. Neb

@MarkRogersVOCFB the graphic displayed an 8-1 conference record and 10-3 total record. That's 2 non-con losses. Michigan non-con is Texas, Fresno State and Arkansas St. I don't believe the win/loss record included bowl games correct?
I thibk it mat have been a typo as he said he had to go back into his predictions and write in Michigan for an upset win over Oregon. I bet the non-con record just wasn't updated to reflect that change.
