lol yeah. VHS tapes had a little tab on the side of it. If you removed the tab, it would make it so it couldnt be recorded onto, which is what I would do to my tapes just in case. But, if you wanted to record onto them anyway, just cover the gap left from the removed tab with scotch tape and off you go.

Maybe in the back of clossets or in a broom closset in some rarer instances.they're ultimetely immersion. You're in the late 90s. Not are tapes are innocent by the way. I put one on without thinking about the name about a year ago and it gave me a bit of a double take shock.
