You two are hilarious 😆 🤣😅 I have been having my husband cut my hair for me every couple months for me for years, mine is quite long, we both like it that way, so it is only an inch or so he trims off. My two teen boys get their haircuts every three weeks as they like theirs kept short, but not shaved bald. So he does their haircuts with the clippers, he has given each over a hundred haircuts each, he has a lot of experience. I had a couple friends stop by last weekend to grill on the deck and have wine coolers. My best friend asked hubby to give her a trim on her mid back length hair, no big deal as he does it for her regularly. So we set up the stool, he caped her and took a couple inches off as she asked. My other friend mentioned that she needed her hair cut as the mullet thing on her neck and the bangs in her eyes were driving her crazy as she hadn’t gotten a haircut in months. She asked if hubby knew how to cut short hair as it is harder than trimming long hair. I pointed out that he gives my boys their haircuts, and she asked him to cut her hair too. He went to get the bag of barber tools, and caped her with the white pinstriped barber cape and put a neckstrip around her neck. He asked how she wanted her hair cut, and she said short on the back and sides and leave it a couple inches longer on top. He asked if she was ok with him using the clippers and she said go ahead. So he went to town with the clippers using different attachments on the sides, then he took the attachment off and did clipper cutting over the comb on the top and to blend the sides. There was a lot of hair rolling down the cape onto the deck. He finished up with the peanut clippers to clean up her neckline. My older son shop vacuumed up the pile of hair and hubby took off the cape. She felt her head and commented that it felt great with all that hair gone. She inspected her haircut in the bathroom mirror and was pleased. She is one of those people that likes her hair kept very short, having it covering her ears, she considered way too long. She posted pictures on Facebook later and got compliments on her new haircut and asked where she went being the shops are closed, her stylist commented that she really liked the haircut, but felt jealous that she cheated on her. So when the hair shops are closed, you aren’t the only one that figures out that there are alternatives. I don’t know if you are going to continue the home barbering, but if you wish to continue and don’t want your hair overall cut that short, try using the clippers over the comb or shears over the comb cutting technique. Plenty of good TH-cam videos that give great instruction. Definitely a great money saving skill and I don’t miss the salon at all.
