    Altis owner here from 2014 to 2017 (10th gen) and 2018 to present (11.5 gen facelifted), both 1.6L. I can say the ride is very comfortable ans fuel efficient (lalo na yung 11th gen with the Dual VVTI and CVT). Ika nga poor mans Camry or better term is Baby Camry.

      Question:
      Was there a difference when you transitioned from the archaic 4-speed auto (of the 10th gen) into the CVT in the newer generations of this vehicle? :O
      We are thinking of ditching our 2012 Toyota Camry 2.5G (XV50) since medyo matakaw ang konsumo para sa amin......and wala siya reverse camera which is hassle during vehicle parking.
      We might get this instead (GR Sport variant)

      @@blackcyborg009 The CVT is smoother in acceleration as long as you don't floor it accelerating. It's also more fuel efficient. I would get the Hybrid model if you're very particular with the fuel economy.

    Loves how they placed the fog lamps inside the air vent below, resembles a more camry appearance for me. Now wondering if what's the better choice between mazda 3 premium and toyota altis.

  • @ErnestMarvinEsteban

    I don't know. Altis still reminds me a lot of Vios. I'd rather buy a civic. Looks better, handles better and has better engine too even for the base variant.

      Civic is more reliable and sporty looking. Only disadvantage against the corolla is the price. Honda is so expensive for a sedan but it's worth it.

      Civics are only good as a Bachelor car. Altis is more on the family oriented. Higher ground clearance, fuel efficient, comfortable for driver and passenger. Useless and better engine kung lagi ka stuck sa traffic. I had a Civic 1.8 (2012) until I sold it last year, the only thing I missed was the engine that I did not have to over-rev to overtake.

      Why are you comparing a crossover/pickup to a sedan. These are all very different cars lmao. There are things a sedan can do that a crossover much more a pickup can’t. Like better comfort and handling.

    • @SabongHobbyist01
      @SabongHobbyist01 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ErnestMarvinEsteban nothing wrong with comparing this car to other segment. The point is, what are the other options at this price point? You see, the commenter was thinking if it is practical. which is a good question. Of course, everyone should critically think before buying a 1.3m vehicle. Buying a vehicle now is not about the segment, it is about practicality, functionality and reliability. In other words "value for money". Consumer wants to get the most out of their money. In fact im also having the same the dilemma as the commentor. Hahaha

    I just don't understand why The Philippines can't get the 2.0L Dynamic Force Engine 169hp (M20A-FKS). My 2020 Corolla SE (US version) can easily reach 200 kph and no unbearable loud drone like sound of the old 1.6L dual VVTi. Drive the M20A-FKS engine normaly and it will sip 41 mpg mixed city and highway.
