Really great video Norm, great to see you out with your son and much appreciate the tips and guide. When I’ve been to Headwaters there have been a couple times one of the canals was clogged or clogged up behind me and that can be a tough time when you’re not use to that happening. Greatly appreciate you sharing your knowledge and guide for getting around the lake.
Happy to help 👍
Amazed at how fast the GTR goes with 2 people. 😯
It moves 👍
Another great video, Norm. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Dave ✅
Great vid man, thanks for all the info!
You bet 👊
Great video Norm! I caught several mud fish last Friday as well on Headwaters.
Nice 🔥 Headwaters has some giant Mud Fish ✅
Thank you for being so specific with your suggestions.
Happy to help 👍
Great video Norm. Some great info.
Thanks Jon 🔥👊👍✅
I just subscribed! I'm learning how to bass fish so I can bring more of a variety of species! last year I got my first sturgeon, spiny dog shark, steelhead and chum salmon! As my name says it, I'm a trout guy! I look forward to learning some of your techniques! So far the new year has been good to me with the trout, my last outing I just posted the other day i was able to land 3 jumbos!!! Tight lines!!!
Thanks for the sub. Looks I can learn a lot from you 👊✅🔥
@@NormGfishing and same for me, Binged on some of your videos today at work!
Great to see you with your son. Thanks for the tips of where to go. God bless
Happy to help 👍
Another great video! Some great information shared. All of the deep water pits on headwaters can produce big fish on shiners or artificial fish the hydrilla edges!
Much appreciated 🔥 the pits definitely hold monsters on the hydrilla edges ✅
Enjoyed watching your son catch them fishies! Hope to see ya out soon Norm.
Thanks Don 👍 I hope all is going well for you. See you on the water 🐟
Thanks so much for the much needed info. Are these good year round or seasonal? I usually come down during late February thru the middle of March for the early top water bite then fish domestic shiners the rest of the morning due to the guides usually get the native shiners due to availability. Thanks so much.
Feb and March should be good 👍
Thanks , I really enjoyed this. Can you do the same for Kenansville?
Hey Norm! Was thinking about heading to HW tomorrow. Was that thick weeds in the main channel coming from the ramp? Good video as usual sir hope to see you around!
EDIT: I spoke too soon thanks for the breakdown towards the end!
Happy to help 👍
Love the video great place to fish. I’ve only been there one time can’t wait to go back. I’m a new subscriber. I have a question was looking to get a mud motor boat. What brand of boat and motor do you have? I saw some mud motors that only runs like 8 miles an hour Would love to have a set up similar to yours. I’ve never owned one so all this is new. Thanks keep up the good work.
Checkout Florida Mud Motors on Facebook if you are interested in a mud boat. I have a 16 foot Alweld with a 40hp Gator Tail XD motor.
Great video, nice to see your son. My son has been fishing tournaments with me since, he was 7. My wife caught a 10 lb. mud fish yesterday, on Garcia. We made it Gator bait, as it floated away after released. The east west canal is blocked with a floating island. It seems like a mud boat is becoming a necessary option. Looking at Gator trax, instead of a mud motor. I have seen air cooled, outboards, up to 140hp. Instead of 40 hp mud motors. Any thoughts.
Sounds like that gator 🐊 got a late Thanksgiving. Gator trax are one of the best mud boats, super high quality. I don’t have any insight on the big air cool motors. But, sounds interesting.
Hey norm ! I’m a local Florida resident out of central Florida and have been making the trek down every weekend in hopes to catch a giant. If you were launching a yak from the kayak launch where would u head to catch a giant ?
I would focus on the North side. Fish all the way down to the Indian mound around the hydrilla edges and balls in the flats and North west. Look for deep holes and hydrilla. Try to fish areas that boats cannot. There are a lot of big fish in the North side.
@@NormGfishing thanks for that norm your the f*ckin man ! Gonna try that for sure and also will be tuning in to all the future content you’ll be dropping ! Tight lines 🔨💪🏽💪🏽
Norm, what day was this? I was out this Wed and there was a small blockage north of square pond that a small trail had been cut through on the west side and then the canal at the south end of square pond was completely blocked as you showed. We fished around there until about 1pm and it was still blocked when we headed back north. Winds were blowing 15+ all morning …
This was recorded 7 days ago.
@@NormGfishing we could not see any open water in the canal all the way till it turns south, however we could here a couple of boats so some guys obviously used those south bank canals at square pond to get to Egan …
Mr. Norm, what is the best time of the year to navigate on Headwaters? November thru March maybe?
Sep through March for me have been the most challenging due to the wind and floating islands. However, these have been the best times to catch fish. No matter the month, it’s good to be careful out there.
Norm y'all need to go over to Blue Cypress too and try them
Thanks for the recommendation. I have been there a couple of times in the past. Only caught a few. But I’m sure there has to be some big ones there.
@@NormGfishing I saw a 13 # being weighed and measured at the ramp 2 years ago, they are there for sure.
Norm, have you fished the Sebring area yet?
Is that the far south end?
@@NormGfishing Lake Placid, Lake June etc.
@shapirodelgado5585, I have not. But will look into it.
Roland Martin spot. Lol😂😅
😂👊
I’ve seen him there many times …
Do you catch any Crappie ever?
Yes. All the time on bass lures.
I've said it before that headwaters is the most dangerous place in America to fish because of the floating mats. Many people will spend the night out there and still be lost as can be tomorrow morning with no clue how to save themselves. Leave your ego at home
