I have found the more beer I drink, the better I throw the Effect. Last night at summer League with it, I tossed a 170, 118 took a break to drown tears in a beer and promptly rolled a 205. hahaha

Literally just threw a 279 with it an hour ago lol…I love it, got me out of using urethane as my main choice…I have a 5x5x2 2LS layout (2 hand lefty, around 18mph, 450ish revs) and hand surface it using 1k then 3k TruCut…I can fire it straighter between 2nd/3rd arrow to 5/6 at the breakpoint or move in and go across lane shooting over 4th arrow…very versatile for my game

Yep got mine after watching The Hype Charles’ video. It definitely sees the friction. Love it. I’m a lower rev stroker control guy and this gives me so much more options.

Yea I got mine, and originally I thought it might be too much for me. Because my miss is inside, but it’s mellowed out for me with games, and I have to roll it. It now carries way more than it should lol

I just had a Hammer Effect drilled pin down. I have 2 one pin up and one pin down. The pin down is a lot smoother while the pin up is hockey stick shape. Both hit hard.
looks like an awesome ball, been tossing hammer since the first Hammer urethane in the 80s. that ball added to the desert tank and the ocean vibe and 2 others for your aresenal is all you need..it seems

Yes I have it it’s freaking amazing!!! The smell is the cohesion additives. The wicked collision from DV8 smells like grapefruit as well.

I have and love that Effect. Also have the Crimson Jackal which is a pretty good ball.

@@LuisNapoles I have both of them pin down. The Crimson Jackal is a little smoother and does better when the lanes are drier along with playing a straighter angle.
I’d like to also see the Hammer Effect vs the Attention Star.
I love my Effect and what i have discovered is that you don't have to baby this ball from any angle on the lanes. It overreacts when the lanes are dry, so get your use outta it by game three.

Lefty 2H here. Have a pin-down Effect in the bag that is very versatile, its more like a strong hybrid than a traditional pearl. Ball is a monster, carries all kinds of hits.
I'm low rev, high speed.. and I love mine. My bag: Hammer Effect. Hammer 3.0, Hammer Artic Vibe. I never have to move, I only change balls.

Luis, now that you are a free agent. If starting a fresh 3 ball arsenal, what would you recommend? Single handed, only hit about 13.6 to 14.6 on the monitor, don’t know my revs, but assume they are on the lower side. Current average is just over 170 throwing a number blue hammer and a dark code.

Extreme envy is a great ball. For a big ball it doesn’t puke down lane. With polish it works great on house. Works on sport too.

Storm allowed their “scent” trademark to expire after 20 years so all ball manufacturers can add scents now. Also with this ball a longer pin (5” min) works better than a “shorter” pin. I have 60x5x35 on mine.

I have an effect it normally last for 4 frames about on our house shot, so it stay in the bag now.
Unfortunately, I am a low rev rate, high speed player. I do like what people are saying about the ball to the point where I would consider getting away from my old bad habits and learning a real release just to throw this thing.

Also I have a high speed ...18-20 mph and with a strong midlane layout it works fine for me 🤷🏿♂️ in fact I've seen several channels recommend this ball for high speed players. I don't have the high revs either

How many effect and DV8 Wicked Collision Bowling Ball
I have a strange question, being a relatively new bowler: I went to a pro shop 2 hours away. I'd discussed with them that I wanted some of my existing newer balls drilled, and that I would buy a ball from them as a thank you. When I arrived, he immediately put me into a heavier ball despite knowing that my doctor put me on a weight restriction. He then explains that I need to sell my entire ball arsenal and buy Motiv and Storm balls from him because the Brunswick 7 makes all junk. He also said that I need to have the latest balls and that all retired or older balls are junk. I drove 2 hours with 8 B7 balls to get drilled and instead left with 1 heavier Venom Black and no other balls drilled. Needless to say that I'm in a pretty sour mood at the moment. Is it normal for a PSO to steer you into another direction, fully knowing what you were driving there for? Should I never go back? He's a retired pro, but the finger and thumb inserts look awful. He cut the tops off and it looks like the ball is 10 years old now.
If I was you I’d never return there!!!! Ever! Find a better pro shop! Just curious but what pro shop is this?
@LuisNapoles Rob Bailey Proshop in Wisconsin. He has high ratings, so I thought I'd take a chance. Unfortunately, I woke up with my fingers, hand, wrist, and forearm seized up after using the new Venom yesterday. Looks like I won't be bowling for several days.
@@GrumpaBaggins Interesting. I flew out to Rob's from California for him to fit me. I remember him being a Motiv guy but if you had balls to drill, he shouldn't try to steer you away. Motiv is good but Brunswick makes plenty of good gear. I'm not sure why PSOs cut the grips down. If they do, they need to make a clean cut and soften the edge with acetone... Still shouldn't need to cut them.
@JAW_73 he said it was to keep extra weight in the ball (which I definitely didn't need as he already had me over my doctor's weight restriction). Maybe he was having an off day or desperate for sales. The whole experience was really odd. I think he's probably a good guy, and I enjoyed his shop and tips for bowling. Just wish he'd stayed with our initial visit plan and helped more instead of selling me something that hurts and bash my investment that I've worked long hours to research and procure. I'm kind of leary to go back now, though. I'm very glad to hear that you had a better experience. That said, the ball is honestly the worst that I've had. The best I could get out of it was a 107. I tend to hover in the 170-200 mark with all of my other balls.
@@GrumpaBaggins any ball is capable of good scores. He shouldn't sell you something heavier than you want. He might suggest, but if your doctor gave you a restriction you should go with that.. what weight did you want.. and what did you get?

With the polish on the ball this is going to delay a lot because of the speed

Storms patent for scented balls expired. Hammer put the scent on the ball intentionally but did not advertise it. Expect to see more scented balls coming from the Brunswick family...
