As a foreigner studying at Busan University at the time, I feel you on the academic thing ahah. Funny thing is even though I learnt all the PPT and report stuff at language school, teachers are always like " Can you do a PPT like you would do back in France " . I guess I'll use my knowledge of Korean PPT later. Keep going with your videos ! It's interesting to see how's Seoul going

Also, it's so interesting to see the covid measures in Korea. Here in the Netherlands we have waaaay higher covid cases (went from 1500 daily to 3700 daily in a week), but literally everything is open and masks are not mandatory anymore.

As someone who also wanted to study abroad in high school, I think studying abroad in college is better because you will be better prepared to move abroad and handle situations on your own than you would be as a high schooler~ Don't be too sad~ Your time will come~ Consider the next few years as time to prepare finances for your study abroad and further study Korean (if you're currently studying Korean)~

I love Namsan tower too! It's so pretty if you drive along the Namsan circular road. I used to drive along the road once a month for my recording work and every time I drove, the sceneries were different depending on the season!

I always look forward to your videos and always enjoy watching them. Your videos have helped keep me motivated when I’ve felt down in my own studies. I’m learning Korean myself, it’s a bit of a struggle as I’m a slow learner but I’m determined & I will get there, but I’m enjoying it. Sadly due to current circumstances I’m not able to go right now but I hope one day I will actually be able to visit South Korea and put what I’ve learnt to use.

Hello! I’m 21, and honestly. I don’t think there’s much of an age limit, I’ve been checking a lot of them because i might not be able to go to Korea or Japan immediately for this year and I can’t find anything about certain age limits

I’m a KIIP student right now and my classes are also all online. Tbh I’m sooo sick of online classes. It’s so much harder to focus IMO. It doesn’t help that all the material is on culture and society (for level 5) which tends to be a little boring (the content is stuff like insurance and welfare…important but not fun haha) so I get distracted soooo easily 😭
Ahhhh yes~~ I wish my classes were in-person too~ I like that I can wear super comfy clothes and lay in bed during break time, but I still want 대면 classes~
Did you ever end up taking the TOPIK test? I’m gonna take it next weekend I’m a little nervous but I know that I psych my self out of stuff a lot. My tutor said I could probably get a 5 on it so I’m trying to trust myself and my skills that I have.

Yes they do~ but only for your first semester and it’s not guaranteed you’ll get a dorm~ it’s first come, first serve

Anyways on a side note I know that you said you started learning Chinese first. I was just wondering if you felt that learning Chinese first made learning Korean a lot harder? since you are mixing up grammar structures, vocabulary, pronunciation, etc. I wanted to start off learning Korean but my school doesn’t offer it😔 btw. I’m currently attending Texas A&M! I can’t believe you came to school here such a small world🙈
I think learning chinese first would be fine. In my opinion chinese is the hardest of the two and after all there are chinese characters used in korean. At one point in uni I was learning korean and Russian and at the same time remembering Spanish and it can get confusing but I think it’s good practice that helps you realize that translating in your head isn’t the best way and it forces you to really change the way you are thinking.

Minute 20:42 there is this part of the sentence "낭의하 (and then there is this "snake" thing what is that, how do you read it. I am currently learning Korean and I am a babz when it comes to this language.
So I try to get as much info as I can, and I am asking because I have seen this "snake letter" very often.

I'm still in my early years of high school and I live in a small town in Oklahoma and I have this big big dream to move to Korea and learn Korean and basically do what you are doing but I have little to no motivation and I struggle a lot already in the school work I have and I've had this thought that I cant do much because I have adhd and all that lovely stuff and so I don't know what I should do because I'm still really young and I might even change my mind about what i want to do in my life in a year or maybe five years SO if someone is reading this and they have any tips please let me know what you think I should do I'm thinking about trying to learn Korean right now because I've always wanted to learn another language.
Maybe look up some YT channels which teach you Korean for beginners (e.g. Talk to me in Korean - they have good & short vids about the language & they sell books & ship them world wide)
