@@abnormia Thank you very much for your reply! I’ve also been wondering about the ARC and renting. Nathalia mentioned that we need an ARC (which takes 1 month to get after arriving?) to rent an apartment yet I’ve heard other people who got their apartment right when they arrived without ARC? And would you recommend airbnb as a viable option?
@@candletalks I don't think you need an ARC specifically to get an apartment, as long as you have key money and rent. I think any ID is fine. But there are a lot of things that require an ARC. I can't tell for sure but Natalia might have had issues with transferring the key money because without an ARC korean banks restrict what kind of account you have. Like one that only allows domestic transfers and nothing over a certain amount, etc.

I’m just curious because I’m applying to KU KLC starting in the Spring term, but are you in academic Korean courses or do all classes make presentations? My fear of public speaking jumped right out hahaha One reason I haven’t progressed more in Korean language in the 5 years I’ve studied. 😂
I think she said she's just at the language institute which is not degree courses or anything. But for most korean language classes in Korea they make you do presentations based on the book content to test your speaking ability

LOL Okay, so I only had two eyeshadow palettes when I filmed this video, so it was either Urban Decay's original MAC. The MAC ones are random ones I picked out years ago and put into my own MAC palette, so I have no idea what shades they are 🥲
hey nat! ik this would come off as a little needy...but can you please share the courses one can do after getting a bachelor's in korean language? i plan on doing my masters there...(rn i am just focusing on language learning, minor and elective subject) but i don't really much idea about the courses one can pursue there after majoring in korean language. so it'd be really helpful if you gimme some idea (i tried searching on the internet but couldn't find anything helpful T_T) have a lovely day
Are you thinking of going to KU specifically? If you are you can always check their website for what masters programs they offer. You can check most korean universities websites for their programs. It really depends on what you want to study. Check out the government korea scholarship (gks) program too!
"regular korean program" For level 5, I was in the academic version of this program. For level 6, I'm in the regular version because they don't offer an academic version for level 6.
Yes! One Korean for communication/study purposes! We don’t study linguistics at all! I’m not working towards a degree or certification that would require classes like that!
@@strawberries123 I'm not Natalia, but I've been learning for around 5 years and I'm only just getting to advanced level. I've learned in Korea for 3 years and that helped more than the 2 years I spent self studying. But I have friends that have studied intensively in Korea for a year and they are where I am. So it all depends on your effort and immersion really.
@@abnormia Thank you so much for the reply!! Yeah I was thinking about looking into going to Korea because it would help a lot to learn there. I put in maybe an hour or two each day when I study so I’m thinking I’ll be able to do well if I keep trying. I‘ve been studying since summer 2021 but I never learned how to read hangul and I only memorized some random words from Drops. I started really putting in effort last week, and I’ve been spending a lot of time working on reading and pronunciation before trying to learn how to say anything besides random words lol. So I’m thinking in about two years, I might have made a lot of progress
In the video description it says current level 'TOPIK 4'. It took me around 800 hours to pass TOPIK 4. I was 'conversational' at that point but fluent- nope, not even close. I'm still working on it... It does take a long time :D:D
it depends! It depends on the university you attend! Some schools allow you to buy jackets from the bookstore and others require you to order it through your major, meaning the language students may not be able to buy a jacket

12:14 omg I thought that was a real person for a second and freaked out hahahaha
Nat couldn't find the SNU professor's lecture video that u said u would link below
Please try re-loading the video! I think I added it right when you posted this comment!! I forgot to add it before making the video public 🥴
@@NataliaGarza yes find it thank you best of luck for your xm. ohh no u might passed ur xm bt the time now hope it done well
Can you tell me what eyeshadow you're wearing? i love it! it's not shimmery but glossy. i love your editing by the way!
LOL Okay, so I only had two eyeshadow palettes when I filmed this video, so it was either Urban Decay's original MAC. The MAC ones are random ones I picked out years ago and put into my own MAC palette, so I have no idea what shades they are 🥲
@@NataliaGarza thank you!
hii, what level of korean course are you?
edit: nvm you mention about going to level 6 or not
hey nat! ik this would come off as a little needy...but can you please share the courses one can do after getting a bachelor's in korean language? i plan on doing my masters there...(rn i am just focusing on language learning, minor and elective subject) but i don't really much idea about the courses one can pursue there after majoring in korean language. so it'd be really helpful if you gimme some idea (i tried searching on the internet but couldn't find anything helpful T_T)
have a lovely day
Are you thinking of going to KU specifically? If you are you can always check their website for what masters programs they offer. You can check most korean universities websites for their programs. It really depends on what you want to study.
Check out the government korea scholarship (gks) program too!
Could you do a vlog only speaking Korean? 👀 please 😆
Oh man….. the subtitles tho 🥴🥴🥴🥴
@@NataliaGarza yeah when I speak Japanese in my TH-cam videos I mercilessly post them without subs. My channel is tiny 😂
When do you do your nails in Korea? Every place I find is super expensive😭
When??? Every 3-4 weeks. If you went where, I linked my salon in the description box!! Haha
how long will you be in korea for?
We are at the same building 😍
??? 👀
the passion you have for Korean leaves is the same passion I have for Hong Kong trees HAHAHA
😍😍
do a moving vlog!!
ahhhh I didn't film one due to safety concerns~ please understand 🥲
@@NataliaGarza totally understandable!!
Omg the Aphmau music 😦 flashbacks
Im not even that early but im still early enough to feel weird about being early... Like theres no one else here
I mean…. I’m here? Haha
What’s the name of your course?? ✨🙃
"regular korean program"
For level 5, I was in the academic version of this program. For level 6, I'm in the regular version because they don't offer an academic version for level 6.
@@NataliaGarza so its purely Korean Language? Do you go into linguistics? Is this only a language program? Sorry for so many questions 🤧🤧
Yes! One Korean for communication/study purposes! We don’t study linguistics at all! I’m not working towards a degree or certification that would require classes like that!
You started learning in 2016... did you always put a lot of effort into it or does it really just take that long?
I ask, not to sound rude, but out of curiosity because I'm starting to learn Korean and I'm wondering how long it might take to become fluent
😊❤️
❤️❤️❤️
I want to go to a university to learn Korean, can I buy a jacket from the university where I learn Korean
it depends! It depends on the university you attend! Some schools allow you to buy jackets from the bookstore and others require you to order it through your major, meaning the language students may not be able to buy a jacket
Can you tell me what which school allows it?
@@enesisik8414 No I don't have that information
What's the name of the book you're studying with??
At KLC we use the Fun Fun Korean series!
Thanks a lot :)
First🤗
Almost haha 🤍
