    That's one good looking 310 that John is flying. With all the panel upgrades, avionics and most importantly in your neck of the woods, Air Conditioning. I often wondered how you could fly your 310 in the Florida heat. I imagine the upgrade was somewhat expensive. Not John's best landing but touchdown is always a good thing! Hope you guys had a great time at the convention!

    Beautiful 310, great vid. We just recently sold our 310P and miss it terribly but Dad is 80 now so retired from big bird and on to boating.

      Thanks for watching. I appreciate your family story and already lament of the day when I will not need to fly these birds. But until then I will enjoy and share the experience. And then on to boating for me too! :-) Cheers!!

      Thanks for watching. It has been a bit since last post due to the plane being in annual for maintenance. Should drop a video of a past flight later today. Stay safe!!

    Thanks for these last two videos. Gives me a lot of ideas to look into for avionics and panel set ups when I finally purchase.

      Glass panels are nice, but can be expensive to fit and repair. also have backup instruments.. they can fail!

    I think im about to give up on my dream of flying... All discovery flights are 500 or more dollars.. I would love some guidance. I’m located in Myrtle Beach or Atlanta Georgia...

    Very nice 310R. Great video. Wanted to see more of interior work. Who did the paint,interior and avionics upgrade?

    Hi Bilinga
    A quick question
    When flying on an ifr flight plan, can you constantly pick through cumulus clouds to avoid weather as long as you stay within the airway without notifying atc, or do you have to request a different heading every single time which can be quite repetitive in heavy weather?

    • @billinga
      @billinga  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks again for watching. While on IFR, we request a deviation (and degree off heading) to avoid a particular buildup. If several, then request a block deviation and (ex. 15 to 30 degrees right for the next 50 miles) time before resuming heading to next waypoint or destination. Controllers are generally agreeable and will alert to restricted airspace.

    What kind of recording device and microphone do you use?

    • @billinga
      @billinga  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Todd, thank for watching. For recording, using Garmin camera Elite and Elite XL with direct line-in from panel via a stereo to mini USB cable. Hope that helps. www.amazon.com/Garmin-Virb-Elite-Action-Camera/dp/B00EOHUVTU/ref=sr_1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1528338350&sr=1-2&keywords=garmin+elite

    Very frustrating. not having explanations about what you are doing thinking planning etc. No. discussion about cowl flap setting, decent planning, engine monitoring or leaning,fuel management, discussion/ demo of the 60-2 autopilot, more clear description of the nature of the turbulence, how your anti- ice works, whether you have tubos, single engine service ceiling, etc. Hence unfortunately a video really not worthy of the serious pilot looking for info and perspective. No disrespect to you Mr Billingsly as you are a great guy.

      Matt, thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback. I am looking to change the format of the channel a bit and your input will help. While the changes you suggested are worthwhile, it will take longer to produce a single event as editing and post-event work is increased. But still I like that direction for the channel "billinga". Have you viewed many of the videos on the channel??
