Full Flight: Delta Air Lines B757-200 Paris to Pittsburgh (CDG-PIT)

  • Hey guys! In this video, I fly back to Pittsburgh after my trip to Poland and short stay in Paris. I found the flight to be very pleasant and once again, it was SO nice to be able to avoid the mega hubs in the US. The customs and immigration at PIT was only about 10-15 min. compared to 2-3 hrs at other airports. Only negative was the check-in at CDG...my family and I had specific seats booked for 3-4 months beforehand and Delta switched all our seats around at the airport. For example, my seat was 29F and I was switched to 29E with no one in my seat. If I wanted to switch back to my seat, it would cost 40 Euro. Luckily a nice Delta agent changed all our seats back to what we had when he saw our confirmation online. Should never happen in the first place. Other than that, it was a great flight and I'd do it again if the opportunity comes. Hope you guys enjoy!

    Hi jazzguy,
    Another awesome report you made here, really enjoyed it! As I said in your PIT-CDG video, I find this to be a very interesting flight. Definitely agree with you that the 10-15 min immigration line beats all the major airports and is one of the biggest plus sides on this sector.
    Looks like you had a great flight, the food looks pretty good! Having that much taxi time to the runway reminded me of our "Polderbaan" we have over here at AMS. So how did you like CDG? Many people dislike it but I don't mind it at all.
    Pittsburgh seems to be a nice city, hopefully I can plan a trip passing through there somewhere next year.
    Thanks again and keep the great videos coming!
    Cheers,
    Brendan

      Thank you for the kind words :) Regarding CDG, I'm kinda torn on the airport. Some parts are nice, some aren't and it's very massive. But I didn't have any trouble there so I don't know why I should dislike it. Yes Pittsburgh is definitely a great city that's in a rebirth and is upcoming. Yah if you can it's a great place to visit :) Thanks again and yes more videos and trips are in the works!

    Like always, enjoyed the video! If you ever fly on a Delta 757 again, I'd suggest trying out comfort+ and hopping in seat 20A- it's an amazing view! How was the wrap you were served? I also really enjoyed not having to hit JFK, ATL, or any of the many other hubs in the US... Customs is so fast at PIT- only a few international flights a day! I saw the Condor flight at 10:30pm- that seem a bit late? Keep it up!

    • @thejazzguy13
      @thejazzguy13  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot man! Yah sure, I'll keep that in mind for next time...I think Comfort + only cost around $100 more than main cabin. And yah, the Condor flight departs at 10:30pm on Mondays and 7:30pm on Fridays. Definitely those Mondays seem a bit late. Thanks again!

    Was that flight to PIT pretty full? I am often curious how the new international flights out of PIT are doing. I had a buddy on a recent Iceland flight on WOW and he said that the plane was full. I just hope PIT can keep these routes by being profitable!

    • @thejazzguy13
      @thejazzguy13  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Well, this flight had about 30 empty seats while my outbound flight was completely booked. Yah I've heard how those WOW flights are really popular from PIT, especially for leisure travelers. Business folks would be drawn more to Delta and Condor (Delta first class was booked solid on both of my flights). I definitely think PIT can sustain all three flights...and then some. Thanks for watching!

    • @alvexok5523
      @alvexok5523 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thejazzguy13 I didn't know that narrowbody aircrafts did trans-Atlantic flights, I didn't know they even carried enough fuel. Plus, the seats in first class and other aspects onboard flights are usually designed to be more suitable for longer flights on wide-body planes. I'd previously thought that 767s were the smallest planes to do trans-Atlantic flights, well they're the smallest of all of the wide-bodies.
      I just hope I don't see any EMBs or CRJs doing a trans-Atlantic flight, since I really will have trouble buying that they have enough fuel, lol. And they don't have tv screens or anything either.

      Thanks! Regarding the 757 on overseas routes, it really is all about economics unfortunately. I'd love to see a 767 or A330 on this route, but sadly it probably won't happen in the near future. Airlines use narrow body jets on transatlantic skinny routes all the time nowadays. But the 757 is a very comfortable plane and I really did enjoy my experience :) Thanks for watching!

    The legendary McDonnell-Douglas DC8 Super Sixty aircraft were known as the most aerodynamically stable and smoothest-flying of all the world's planes. When designing the Boeing 757, former MD engineers were reportedly brought in for the purpose of replicating the aerodynamic stability of the Super Sixties in the 757. Can anyone who has flown on both types tell me: 1. if this is true, and 2. if they succeeded? I did WRI-HOA both ways in DC8-63CF planes, but have repeatedly failed to get on a 757. If you have flown on both, which is better in your opinion, and why? Thanks!

    To me, I think the 757 is a bit to small to fly across seas, especially the 757-200. I think a 757-400 or a 767-300 will do it. The 200 just doesn't have enough room in the plane

      In terms of sleeping, one of those neck pillows can help. For food, ya might wanna take some onboard with you or eat a good meal right before you board as the airline might not give a whole lot...especially in economy. And for entertainment, most airlines offer plenty for that, but you still might wanna download some free games beforehand & the airline's app. Hope this helps!
