I haven't enjoyed any other beating more than this one. ( I was a Mancini fan) and the way Bramble goes after Rosario when he is making the SIGN OF THE CROSS. The uppercut these broadcasters didn't see did him in. (I watched this fight in 1986 on TV)

Edwin " Chapo " Rosario was at his prime best in this fight and this was his most memorable victory in a great career . I was stunned by the KO because Livingstone Bramble had a granite chin and was at that time considerd the best lightweight in the world not to mention was in the top five pound for pound fighter list in 1986 . Rosario took the fight to him . Rest in Peace Chapo .

Bramble had never been knockdown in his career until this fight. It says a lot about Rosario's power. Edwin Viruet who fought Duran's twice when Duran was at his prime said that Rosario's power was ten time harder than Duran and Viruet never been Koed until he faced Rosario.

+ALwayserecto: Viruet has always hated Durán and seeks to demean him by talking trash.
Duran and Viruet were almost the same age when they confronted each other. Viruet ran a lot in both fights to avoid being knocked out and did not present much offensive although it made a Duran deslucir that was expected to knock him out.
What Viruet must remember when praising Rosario to demean Duran is that Rosario was 13 years younger than him and was in full swing while he was already in the twilight.
Rosario was 19 years old against the 32 years of Viruet. If Viruet, 32, faces 21-year-old Duran, Panamanian annihilates him and wins him more deadly than Rosario did. Viruet's suit against Rosario was very uneven.

    • @sinusbradycardia

Jose Rodriguez I had the first fight with Ramirez a draw and of course we all know what happened in the rematch. I believe Rosario had taken drugs, but he wasn't taking them before the Chavez fight. Chavez was one tough SOB and he had the best chin I've ever seen on a fighter and Chavez was right there in Rosario's grill and Rosario landed his Sunday punches and Chavez never flinched. Chavez proceeded to beat Rosario down and easily beat Rosario's other nemesis with ease, both Ramirez and Camacho. In an ironic twist of fate, during the latter part of Chavez's career, really starting after the first Taylor fight Chavez started drinking quite a bit. He was even drinking during training camp. However, for the Whitaker fight, which he lost, he was clean for a while before that fight and trained his hardest. He even said himself that he was in the best shape of his life for the Whitaker fight. Rosario knew the threat Chavez poised, no way he went into that fight on drugs and not in shape. Had he not been in shape, he wouldn't have lasted 11 rounds. Chavez would've taken him out early if that was the case. Remember Rosario shot off his mouth saying he was going to send Chavez back to Mexico in a pine box. Another thing that is interesting is that people claim Rosario's gloves were loaded for this fight and people claimed that Chavez's gloves were loaded for all his fights. Excuses, excuses!

    • @alkolicho
      @alkolicho 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Certainly if Rosario had not been involved in drugs he would have defeated Chavez, Haranaka and Nazario.
Rosario defeated Camacho, but was stolen by the judges in favor of Camacho.
Every time Chavez lost a fight at one time his followers used the drug as excuses, but when some drug addict was defeated by Chavez, at once the same ones that justify Chavez's defeats affirm the opposite of the defeated boxer. It seems that drugs only affected Chavez, but not his adversaries who had the same vice

ezryedr SO WHAT??? THAT POWER DIDN'T DO HIM SHIT WHEN HE ALMOST GOT KILLED BY JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ!!! ROSARIO WAS ALWAYS RUNNING HIS BIG MOUTH AND AGAINST CHAVEZ, HE PAID DEARLY FOR IT!!! HE WAS NEVER THE SAME AFTER THAT BRUTAL BEATING AT THE HANDS OF JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ!!! I REMEMBER THAT FIGHT LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY!!! ROSARIO HAD MIKE TYSON COME INTO THE RING WITH HIM TO TRY AND INTIMATE CHAVEZ!!! CHAVEZ JUST KEPT SMILING TILL THAT FIRST ROUND BELL RANG!!! AFTER THE SECOND ROUND YOU COULD EASILY SEE WHO THE BETTER FIGHTER WAS, CHAVEZ AT THAT TIME WAS IN A CLASS BY HIMSELF!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE ASS KICKING CHAVEZ HANDED OUT THAT NIGHT TO THAT FUCK HEAD ROSARIO!!!👊👊👊👊👊

Yeah .. ur right. Rosario should definitely be in the hall of fame if Mancini is. I had to defend Mancini and his durability, tremendous condition, and courageous heart. I admire him for that. Rosario was naturally better, as most would agree, because of his skill, movement, etc. As well Rosario had some TNT in his punches (as you can see here). He doesn't get credit as often as he should for being such a solid puncher but he was powerful. Props to both of these guys..need guys like these today.

Bramble was a head case. After his victory over Mancini it went to his head. He became hard to deal with in camp. Began to call his own shots, felt cause he was champ that he could do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted in the Duva camp. His reign should have been longer and more defined. Gotta listen to the guys who got you there. If I’m not mistaken Duva and Bramble had already parted ways by this time.
On the other hand Chavez in an interview well into retirement was quoted as saying that Rosario hit hard. It felt like he was hitting you with baseball bats. That’s Chavez talking.

You are spot on. But don't careers go that way? A guy comes up with talent and punching power, he learns to box and wins championships, then he may lose some big fights, then he may go back to being a brawler just to get decent fights late in his career? Arturo Gatti comes to mind, so does Bobby Chacon. El Chapo was great.......

I havent seen that on youtube, but I definitely remember it at the time, I never searched for it here, but immediately after the fight, he just flat appeared on drugs of some kind, anyway, his trainer was found to have put something in his drink, whatever it was, it juiced him big time for this one, Arguello was still a world class fighter at this time, he bent Pryor's head straight back and pryor acted as if it didnt happen, Pryor did not have a chin like that, he was on something, that helped

Bramble was the favorite for this fight. Rosario just jumped on top of him and LB could not react. Besides, Rosario was a heavier puncher than LB. Rosario was not always the mostd disciplined guy in the gym. But this time he took this match seriously and trained well.
