    Your exactly right with the sound coat. Water will ALWAYS find the lowest point.

    Hi Keith, should keep the mini that bit quieter hey and you've finally found the arches yay!!! Safe places are owner proof too lol 😊

    Like the idea of not covering the little floor channels. I’ve just been using the same type of stuff in a van, makes a huge difference.

    Hi Keith, i have'nt done the floor on Ozzy yet but i'll be doing it you're way, unless you have a patent pending😉 Funky new tunes!

    Great video again! I must admit I covered the whole floor in mine didn’t think of water getting underneath 😬 I can still hear the twin SU’s roaring away tho ! Hopefully all meet up sometime 👍

    I just did silent coat in the centre of the panels.... did not want toadd much extra weight ☝️

      That is what they are really for.

    I know this is an older video but I am still catching up and judging by the standard of your work and how much attention to detail you apply I am curious as to why the floor was left unpainted with top coat?

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It didnt really think to much about it. The original floor is just epoxy primed, I didnt really think it would add any extra protection, and given the full 1 piece carpet in an MPI I'm never going to see it again anyway

    I got a question I have 2 10s in my jeep renegade wheel area with bandpass box. I have added deadner to roof and under box trunk area . When I turn speakers up sounds like I'm under. Car wash vibrates and sounds like I'm in a barrel maybe flexing not sure please help. Can some give me steps to make the rear area sound clean and not move all the panels and no flex????

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I've got to be honest, I don't know much about a Jeep Renegade but I'm assuming the larger panels i.e. the boot floor and roof are flexing.

      Sorry, not really. Good ones are hard to find, just do plenty of searching and walk away if it doesnt look right

    Hi keith. Really neat job with the soundproofing. What are you doing with the rear wheel arches inside the car? Do they get trimmed?

  • @michaelatejnorova5044

    How thick was the material you used?

    What's sound deadening made out of?

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Polymeric based damping material......... whatever that is LOL

  • @mad-maxx2211
    @mad-maxx2211 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How would there be any water on the inside though? I think I would do larger sheets and cover Every square inch. Project sprout is looking great.

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Unfortunately most minis leak a bit and even if they don't if you have any sort of spill in the car it's then a problem

  • @RobinTheMini
    @RobinTheMini 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This type of sound deadning is not intended to cover the whole surfaces, just 25% of each to kill the metal rattle sound.

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool, that's what I thought too. I have a layer of sound deadening to go above which is closed cell foam
