    2:17 brings a tear to my eye. You know that the more of the cars you have crushed the less there will be of them in the world? That hurts to see.

    Broke my heart watching u scrap my dream cars. :(

    • @BuildBoostDrive
      @BuildBoostDrive  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I understand but we only scrap what is near or is disrepair if it wasnt for frame damage they would have been the projects.

    I'm watching this as I'm frantically searching for a dashboard and random interior pieces for my 2G... I'm losing my mind watching those cars thrown into the scrap heap.... There's a special place reserved in he'll for you....

    • @BuildBoostDrive
      @BuildBoostDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still feel the cold of hell freezing over but most usable parts were stripped from those cars. Alot of interior plastics age and become brittle so alot stuff just breaks during removal very saddening. I'll hollow out a nice office near the lava down there, gotta stay warm.

      @@BuildBoostDrive I believe I would probably say the same thing if I didn't want a large group of angry mob of pitchfork and torch wielding DSMers showing up looking for revenge 😂
      Living in Az, I was able to find a body in pristine condition, no rust ect... But the interiors never fair well in the desert. I am glad to see folks still putting good old reliable analog cars back together.
      If I make it to he'll first, I'll keep your seat warm for you.

    • @BuildBoostDrive

      They always are and we hate doing it but some of them were beyond fixing damage wise to frame and body but the parts are still going to good use.

    Is that the 6 bolt 4g64 or the 7bolt version and what cars can I get the 6 bolt version of it

    • @BuildBoostDrive

      7bolt but all I can remember on the 6 bolt 4g64s, I believe one car they came in was 89-91 Hyundai Sonatas.

    I have a question do you know of the spyder has a fuel relay ? If so where is it located

    • @BuildBoostDrive
      @BuildBoostDrive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I remember correctly, if on a turbo it's around the instrument panel and on the non-turbo should be on the firewall.

    Why not put the 4g63 head on it

    • @BuildBoostDrive

      It's going to be a daily for now so no turbo hassles 'yet' but that will be coming in steps. This will be a more methodical build in steps.

    If I wanted to turbo this motor you have a list of parts I would need ?

    • @shaunfosmark
      @shaunfosmark 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You keep the block and crank. Get some eagle 4g63 rods (150mm). Then get some 4g64 w/63 head rods (Google it). Then get yourself a 4g63 head and bolt it on with all the DSM accessories. Then put a turbo on it.

    How did you remove the bolt from the crankshaft sprocket? I am having trouble

    • @BuildBoostDrive
      @BuildBoostDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you dont have a good impact, and I'm not sure where your at with the engine but you can put a breaker bar on it pressed against the floor and bump the starter or if you have the oil pan off wedge something soft, a piece of wood or I've used the handle of a hammer between the crank and block so it cant turn then go at it with a breaker bar hope that helps.

    • @chrisbriones8062
      @chrisbriones8062 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BuildBoostDrive I have the engine out already. Everything is off I just can’t get that bolt off. I’ve tried it with a breaker bar and no luck

    • @BuildBoostDrive
      @BuildBoostDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some of these bolts have been on there for a good amount of time if it's still tight, either find a pipe extension to get more torque, heat it with a torch, but try to give a few good whacks with a hammer as maybe it's a little rust and hitting it with a hammer will break up some rust but other than that your last options are heat and or a powerful air impact.

    • @BuildBoostDrive

      I've heard this aswell but I thought they were slightly different and the only thing that was the same between the engines was the crank design, but my memory could be betraying me.

    Why was there a 4g64 inside of a G2? I thought they came with just the 4g63.

    • @BuildBoostDrive
      @BuildBoostDrive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They came with either a 420a non turbo only in front wheel drive, or 4g63t in fwd or awd. In later 90s the spyder convertible was released with all motor options including 4g64 all trims were fwd.
