I'm absolutely fascinated by the produce in your shops/stores.
The choice, and types are unbelievable. For instance, I didn't know there were 'white hotdogs' what is the different from the brown ones? Apple sauce in mini cartons, is this a drink in the US, Apple sauce here, in the UK is to serve with roast pork, or to have as a dessert, with cream of custard, put in a pie or cake. Love watching you go round your stores with your Train of Trollies (shopping carts) 😁
Hello Alicia! I, too, squeeze my produce to check for freshness. If it is soft, we don't get it. The people that complain are hilarious. Everything is so expensive who wants to bring home spoiled produce?!

I'm not meaning any disrespect at all, but to help remember the difference between a bushel and a bunch: A bushel is a large basket (or large bag) measured by weight or dry gallons of apples, potatoes, corn, beans, cucumbers, etc. Think of a bushel of apples you can buy at an orchard. A bunch is a grouping of fruit that is attached at the stem (bananas or grapes) or veggies tied or rubber banded together. Thanks!

I grew up in the Smokey Mountains and all we did is fish for Trout. It's awesome. So good.

Trout fishing is a pastime here in Quebec. There is rainbow, speckled, and brown trout. All delicious fried up in garlic butter 😋

Bunches not Bushels! You don’t buy anything in bushels. They are big baskets!
I buy a bushel of crabs and I get a bushel of tomato’s when making sauce people do get some things in bushels.

You can get a lot of things in bushels
We say bunches of bananas , years ago it used to be a hand of bananas , I worked in a green grocer's many moons ago , never ever heard of a bushel before !!
Actually a Bushel is an old term unit of measurement, equivalent to 8 gallons UK, or 64 US pints.
If this term has been adopted to mean something else, like basket, or bunches this is how language develops. There are many words that have changed their meaning over time

@@DoughertyDozen yes 😂 I freeze and can what's left over . Great for soups and spaghetti sauce. They freeze whole really well but I had so much last summer I filled my freezer up so I canned up a lot last winter . Still have couple more bags in the freezer
Im so surprised u dont get Sahlens hotdogs cause theyre exceptionally delicious. They have a natural snap and when cooked on the grill theyre unbelievable !!!
Try them, i promise someone or maybe two will enjoy them. Theyre a local regional Western New York kind of thing it's not a nationwide product. Give them a try if you haven't already.
Hey, I see you sometimes buy dunkin donut ground coffee. We are currently in Australia but moving to Florida in a few months. Over here we have a kettle for our coffee. Do you use a kettle or do you use a coffee machine or a filter machine? I am going to buy the dunkin ground coffee and starting a big household haul of everything our family needs when we relocate. They were! My favorite platter broke the other month (the orange fiestaware oval one) so now I have the one big one left and a bunch of plastic catering ones I use. Definitely asking for a nice platter for Christmas!

I don't know if this will be helpful for you in future visits to Wegmans or if you already know this but at the end of each aisle there's like a little they described it as a map that tells you specifically what's there not just like baking aisle or canned fruit vegetable oil actually tells you what's their and or you could go to the app which since they just recently moved everything I don't know if it's updated or not but that is one thing that I do not like about any grocery store they are constantly moving things I get why they do it you know and like each place is set up differently and I understand why but especially for someone like me who is a person with low vision it's kind of a bummer for me because they all have personal shoppers but anytime I've Ever Needed one there's never been one available and being a person with low vision usually take someone in the store with me but there's times that I'm just running in for one or two things or there's times that I want to feel like I'm more independent than I sometimes am so I will go It Alone but I have this like understanding with my husband that if I'm in there for more than the time he should think I would be in there then he'll come and "rescue" me LOL
Do you ever eat banana sandwiches over there ? We do in the UK we just slice the banana's up and put them on buttered bread and put the other slice of bread on top and then cut in half. Also we like banana's and custard over here children love it
My hubby mushes his banana up for a sandwich , I like mine sliced on seeded toasted brown bread !🇬🇧

I really don’t think people realize how much a large family eats. I get you have dry goods stocked up. But even I have some dry goods always on hand and we are a family of 4.
I know. To me it’s our ‘normal’, but I can see how it must look like way too much to other people.
@@DoughertyDozenmy boy is only 8 and the amount of food he eats, can’t imagine have multiples of him and as a preteen 😂. He’s eaten cereal and 2 snacks before I even make breakfast.

I don't mind shopping but I hate putting it away. 4 kids but I usualy didn't really want help. Meats were divided up into serving sizes most of the time. I never knew who wouldvir wouldnt show up for dinner as theg into their upper teens, or who they might drag home with them.😅

Yes! One of the workers was telling me they’re putting in all new shelves while rearranging. It’s a 4 week process (or they have 4 weeks left i’m not sure how long it took in total). She was saying in the meantime the updated map doesn’t even help because not everything is moved yet lol.

before I made my own spices I had Tupperware container with taco chili ranch ect packets . my k8ds l9ved wht chili so I'd but 10 packs of things at time. we'll I keptb12 packs so I see how many I had then but how every many to keep 12 on hand of the most uses packets

You apparently don't have a clue how much food a houseful of active (some teens) kids can devour. A 12 po7nd spiral ham would have totally disappeared if I hadn't already cut of enough for scalloped potatoes and ham, a couple ham sandwich for my lunches, enough for a broccoli cheese

If I am not mistaken, N Y law dictates what is to be provided for adopted/fostered children. The State also provides money for their care. I am sure Alicia keeps a running record of what she and her husband have provided and monies spent. Buying for a family of 13 children is 3 - 4 times the amount of money a regular household spends. The logistics are sometimes overwhelming. You try it 24/7 and see how demanding it can be. I do disagree with the amount of sugary items that are purchased, but again I’m not trying to do the job.
Oh no they don't I'm from her area. Adopted kids don't get money from the state. U can ask for it but Alicia has stated they don't need it. .
