This looks like so much fun, Tina, but I’m having trouble finding this kind of cabochon. I’ve searched Amazon & tried every word combination I can think of, but no luck. Most all of them have loops, etc, on them to make them into pendants, earrings or rings. Could you please give me some ideas on finding them? I just love what you’re doing with them & I think the very first one you made, the one that’s kind of lumpy & uneven? It looks just like expensive jewelry made with abalone shell! You’re so much fun!
What a fantastic idea! You are making your own jewelry! Lol! I think the wax fit perfectly in there. They are going to look great on journal covers or whatever you plan to use!
Hi Tina, these are a lovely idea. Sorry I haven't commented for a while but I needed to update. I've still been watching you every day and buying your beautiful kits. Xx
Hi Tina, These are quite lovely. You can add initials or dried flowers. So many possibilities. I can’t wait to see you use them with other ephemera. Bye for now
Tina I just thought, you could gently go over these with your heat gun afterwards to get them to melt to the edges! Saved a load of videos with more ideas, yes I'm down another rabbit hole🙈. I will pass on anything I think you'll like 👍😁. 💖💖💖
I find Novo Chrystal Drops fantastic instead of glossy accents, for me it works better and doesn’t seem to get air bubbles which I have found glossy accents does at times. 😊
Tina, four months later and I'm getting around to watching this! I saw you use one of these earlier this week - I madly love them and have just ordered cabachon blanks and different colored wax melts so I can make some too. I do, however, have a few similar things I can use in the meantime. As always, thanks for the inspiration. Hugs, MK 🤗♥️🏜♥️🤗
What a great idea, interested to see how you use them in your journals. Maybe quiet for a few days while in hospital but will hopefully be able to watch while in. Much luv as always. Xx
Such a great idea but my sweet girl you need more patience and melt that wax more then it will spread in the cabachon easier!!! Also tap the cabachon on the desk to help it spread to the edges!! Going to try this today, Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Hi Tina, I’m not a real big fan of the silver. So this is a great way to alter them. They look great with the wax. I never would have thought of using the wax like this. Great idea!! And then the glossy accents…very cool!!! Hugs 🤗
I never thought to use the cabochon with the wax pellets Tina 🥰 I make rings and use epoxy resin to create the domes from moulds for the cabochon...what a wonderful idea 💡 ty Tina I have wax pellets and cabochons to do this project 😊😀☺
Lovely! Look up "Stick Fast" on Amazon. It's a fast curing glue, kind of like super glue. Maybe that would help with sticking the wax pieces in permanently. I do like the patina! ❤
I love this!!! I'm wondering if you can put a pellet into the cabochon then hold it over the flame with tweezers if that will melt easier? Of course, you would have to use the metal ones. I'm going to have to try it.
Hello Tina, your wax in the cabochons came out lovely. I have the same problem with glossy accents, as a matter of fact most glues need to be pinned to unclog them. Thanks for sharing.
Oh wow! This is such a clever idea! They look wonderful and so realistic. Could look amazing on a journal cover maybe? Thank you, I'm going to have a go today...
Just another thought. Would attacking the hot glue with your heat tool spread it out and stop the wax lifting so much? I mean before you add the wax back in.
Tina these really came out lovely - between the seals and now these 🤣 i really need to look into getting a wax seal kit - these are wonderful and i look forward to seeing how you use them for embellishing - so very inspiring - thank you and be well 🥰🤗
Cabochon is pronounced with the emphasis on the first syllable. A cabochon is a shape of a stone or faux stone that is flat on the back and domed on the front. Those findings are cab ( nick named by jewellers) frames or settings like you said. This is a super idea to use wax to make faux cabs. Thanks for the inspiration!🦌💌❤️📚
They are quite lovely. I like the one you first put the gold on best. I also can see that I won't be making the small ones--too fiddly as you said and much to easy to muck up. But I hope to make some of the big ones since I already have the supplies you used. Very creative idea you presented and with practice it will be fun. I wouldn't want to be on screen while trying them and you have guts, I will say that. You seem to slough off mistakes which I greatly admire as I still get a bit frustrated when I make mistakes, however I have been saying things similar to what you say "never mind, I don't mind it". Only I say "it's OK it's not perfect and I don't mind" haha. Thank you so much, Tina. Great vid. XOXOJANE
Great idea and there is no right way for these to look! However they come out they look great. If you look at stones and crystals they’re not perfect. Where did you get the metal pieces Tina? Hugs x
Oh Tina you mind reader.....again😄. I've just bought mine and need ideas! I say with the emphasis on 'cob' but could be wrong 🙊. Oh they are GORGEOUS 😍😍😍. I wonder if you warm the pendant/ tray doodads first, or maybe being metal like the stamp because it doesn't stick to that. I was wondering if scented wax melts would work too 🙊.that textured one looks like abalone shell which I love. You can also re melt them. Oh cosmic shimmer acrylic glue works on wax and metal as I've just used it. You can also get the wax sticks that go in your glue gun, I imagine it's a faff to clean afterwards. Maybe a cotton but would clean the over spill. I like both too! Wonder if gilding wax might work. My glossy accents blocks too, must be a thing.the green is my favourite 😍😍😍. 👏 fab idea 💡Tina thank you 😁. You're as clumsy as me 🙈. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
The metal findings are called cabochon settings. You can get them on Amazon, Ebay, Ali Express, Pandahall and Beebeecraft. You can seal them with Annie Howes glamour glaze which is better than glossy accents which tends to get alot of air bubbles. You can get rid of air bubbles with a straw, or a chefs torch. Hope this helps🙂
I bought glamour glaze from etsy, its the only place I could find it. Im not sure about using patina on wax seals, I think its designed for metal. You can buy tiny cabochons for the small settings from Beebeecraft, they have lots of pretty designs, I just bought some with musical notes on. They look about 12mm but you can measure the inner tray to be sure. Another way to fill the cabochon settings is with paint, yes really! I use Pebeo prisme and fantasy moon, they give a geode effect and look really pretty. You can get them from Hobbycraft or Amazon. Look on TH-cam to see the effects these paints have, youll fall in love with them! 🙂
Tina I love you rockin that shirt. Absolutely gorgeous!!! What a great idea for wax!!! Question how do you know how many pellets of wax to use? Love your show!!!💜💜💜
Thank you so much for all your kindnesses. I tend to use three or four pellets, sometimes it’s easier to have more rather than having to wait for every last bit of wax to run off the spoon, lol x
Fantastic idea, I really must try sticking some things in my wax seals, I haven’t ever done that, but I’ve seen other people, and it always looks amazing xx
I did some white ones and stamped a small rose in the middle and then put glossy accents on, looks like a cameo, . Thank you for the idea x
Oh wow, love the idea of a stamped rose In the middle, great idea x
WOW!!! What a great idea! Many possibilities. Thx for video. Austin,TX USA
These are great and look like baroque pearls !
What a neat idea! ❄️❤️❄️🇨🇦
Wonderful Idea.. thanks for Sharing
Lg Tina 💕
That blue is really pretty
What a fantastic idea to make this happen!
love the green its so pretty.
Fun and very pritty 😍
So pretty! ❤️
What a wonderful idea!
Love this idea. If you use your heatgun on the wax, it will melt out in the edges, and get even, in the medallion.👍🏻😄
Thank you so much for your great tip, I have tried that since the video funnily enough, it’s really handy to remember x
Really cute 💕
Great work! They look lovely.
very cleaver!!!!!!!
What a great idea Tina. Must give this a try & add to my craft projects. Be well, be safe & TYFS
Thank you so much Claire, stay safe and well too x
Thank you so much Claire, stay safe and well too x
What a great idea
I love the first one you did! It's like the inside of a shell or a natural pearl.
What a wonderful idea thanks for sharing.
These are very pretty!
I have just purchased some wax pellets and wax seal stamps. I have experiment with using metallic pens on the seals and they look really good.
Brilliant! I love your ideas!
This looks like so much fun, Tina, but I’m having trouble finding this kind of cabochon. I’ve searched Amazon & tried every word combination I can think of, but no luck. Yes, my own jewellery! Lol x
They are great😀
great idea
Really cool idea 😊
So cute. Got a wax seal set for Christmas that I ha eat goyten to play with yet. Defiantly want to try this!! TFS
Oh that’s awesome, you will love playing with your wax seal kit x
Loving these. Could you add mica powders for a pearlescent effect? Marbling the dark blue with gold would give the look of lapis lazuli. Fabulous!
Oh my gosh what a great idea, I haven’t tried it but I’m sure it would work x
Hi Tina, these are a lovely idea. Sorry I haven't commented for a while but I needed to update. I've still been watching you every day and buying your beautiful kits. Xx
Lovely to hear from you Marie, honestly please don’t feel like you have to explain, just lovely to hear from you today 🤗. I hope you’re doing well x
Great idea ! looking forward to adding gems and things to to top before it hardens! Thanks 🤗
Fantastic idea x
What a great idea. I love it. A fun project. Beautiful colors. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Tina, These are quite lovely. You can add initials or dried flowers. So many possibilities. I can’t wait to see you use them with other ephemera. Bye for now
LOVE LOVE LOVE your ring!!!! It's GORGEOUS!!!
Lol, thank you so much x
What a great idea! I think the light blue looks a little like real Turquoise.
Yes it does doesn’t it? X
I love the aqua coloured one with your fingerprint. I would glue a tiny pearl into the “valley” part
It’s such a pretty colour isn’t it, great idea for gluing the pearl into the valley part x
Thankyou for sharing
Tina I just thought, you could gently go over these with your heat gun afterwards to get them to melt to the edges! Saved a load of videos with more ideas, yes I'm down another rabbit hole🙈. I will pass on anything I think you'll like 👍😁. 💖💖💖
Lol, those rabbit holes! They just keep going and going don’t they? X
Lol yes but lots of fun xx
Great twist on using wax. I bet a glue dot would work to hold them in the cabochon.
I find Novo Chrystal Drops fantastic instead of glossy accents, for me it works better and doesn’t seem to get air bubbles which I have found glossy accents does at times. 😊
Thank you Pauline for the recommendation, I’ve never heard of Crystal drops I will have to google them x
Sorry they are Nuvo, not Novo as I had written - they are by Tonic Studios

Video with some ideas for using them coming up. I really hope your procedure goes well and that you recover quickly xx
Tina you are brilliant my dear 😘 I love this idea so much. I wish I had your steady hand lol and I'm loving the shirt ❤🤗Tfs
Oh thank you so much Jo x
@@shabbydabbydoodah 🤗😘❤ wax doesn't like me lol so I can really appreciate when anyone can create with it. These are lovely 😍
Love this!!! I was wondering if you use a small seal on top if it would look like a cameo??? So many possibilities! Thanks for sharing! 🥰
What a great and very different way to use wax beads .. love this idea!
Such a great idea but my sweet girl you need more patience and melt that wax more then it will spread in the cabachon easier!!! Also tap the cabachon on the desk to help it spread to the edges!! Going to try this today, Thanks for the inspiration!!!
What a wonderful idea!! I’m going to have to try this soon TFS 💕
Also , I think these would make beautiful rings !!
What a great way to use up some of my wax, and maybe put a seal on top. Is there a link for the metal pieces?
What a terrific idea
They turned out so awesome lovely colors.
Hi Tina, I’m not a real big fan of the silver. So this is a great way to alter them. They look great with the wax. I never would have thought of using the wax like this. Great idea!! And then the glossy accents…very cool!!! Hugs 🤗
This is such a great idea. The colors are amazing against the antique metal. I can’t find them on Amazon. What are they called?
I never thought to use the cabochon with the wax pellets Tina 🥰 I make rings and use epoxy resin to create the domes from moulds for the cabochon...what a wonderful idea 💡 ty Tina I have wax pellets and cabochons to do this project 😊😀☺
Yay, have fun with your cabochons and wax. I haven’t ever tried resin, but it’s something I am tempted to try x
Love this - great way to accent a cover or a page, endless ideas. Excited to try it. Thank you
I love these. They are beautiful!
You have great ideas. I love to see what you come up with that is different. I love your channel
Thank you so much Roxane x
Those are so cute. What a great idea!
These looks fun! I do agree, it’s takes a bit to melt the pellets!
Yes, it’s a shame about the time to melt the wax…..probably only really a couple of minutes, but I am a very impatient crafter! Lol x
Me as well!
These are just amazing!!!!! I can't wait to give it a go!
Lovely! Look up "Stick Fast" on Amazon. It's a fast curing glue, kind of like super glue. Maybe that would help with sticking the wax pieces in permanently. I do like the patina! ❤

Yay, hope you had fun Clare x
I love these, great idea!
Just another thought. Would attacking the hot glue with your heat tool spread it out and stop the wax lifting so much? I mean before you add the wax back in.

Wow! You are good. I JUST ordered a wax seal set last night. 😄💞
Oh fantastic timing, have fun with yours x

Thank you so much Janet, honestly the wax seal is probably one of my favourite things I’ve bought since making journals xx

The White ones i would like to see with flowers inside
That would look so pretty xx
I love this idea! What are the things called that you put the wax in and do you have a link to purchase them?
Great idea. I think if you let the wax melt more on its own it will spread easier as you pour. Re melt any booboo. I plan to try this. Tfs.
I think you’re right Brenda about the melting, I am just so impatient! Lol x
Hi Tina,
Great idea!
Where did you find Cabochon base setting that don't have the loop for a Pendent?
all the ones I'm finding have the loop
Maxine
Hi Maxine, sorry for the slow reply, I got them from Amazon x
@@shabbydabbydoodah thank you Tina, I was not able to find these without the loop for pendant. I ended up ordering from nbeads directly
These look great - must try sometime :)
Have fun Nat x
Love your rings! Do u make them yourself?
Thank you so much, no sadly I don’t make them myself x
ooh i love this idea. Where do you buy your blank cabochons and boxes of wax beads please Tina? Thank you xx

Hi Tina
Supper video
What are the metal pieces called that you put wax on please?
Thank you Tracy, they are called cabochons x
Tha1nk y1ou Tina x
I think if you don’t like the way it settles in the cabochon you could put the metal directly over the heat and remelt it?
I hadn’t thought of that, fantastic idea, thank you x
Great idea and there is no right way for these to look! However they come out they look great. If you look at stones and crystals they’re not perfect.
Where did you get the metal pieces Tina? Hugs x
maybe cutting a piece off with a craft knife and grabbing the metal piece with a pliers and heating it directly into the piece?
Great idea, also you could actually re-melt the wax with your heat tool x
Oh Tina you mind reader.....again😄. I've just bought mine and need ideas! I say with the emphasis on 'cob' but could be wrong 🙊. Oh they are GORGEOUS 😍😍😍. I got my first set from eBay, and then my second set I got from Amazon x
Do a yellow one Tina Please
It’s funny I hardly use yellow for some reason? X
Hey guys does anybody know what the brass things are called I’m trying to look for him and I can’t find them thank you
Will those hold in the heat?
I haven’t tried them in the heat, but I guess they’re going to be as good as any wax seals x
if you wanted them to melt all the way, you could reheat with your heat gun and they would spread more into the frame.
You are hard on yourself, natural stones have texture. The ones with texture look more raw stone. 😊 they look amazing !
Thank you so much x
❤❤❤⚘
I wonder if you could fussy cut out a picture of a lady , glue it to the bottom of the cabochon and cover with clear hot wax?
That might work, or beeswax? X
I added a small gem to them 5:32
Fantastic idea, I really must try sticking some things in my wax seals, I haven’t ever done that, but I’ve seen other people, and it always looks amazing xx
😍😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤❤
It seems a bit fiddly and that would frustrate me.
