    no driving aids is a massive plus lol.

      No it's not. The driving aids in a CVT Crosstrek are excellent. Did a 5k mile road trip last year and absolutely love the adaptive cruise control.

      No driving aids is great. Acceleration is totally fine. People constantly complain about that with the Crosstrek. Go get a WRX and stop complaining.

    Subaru really should offer the Crosstrek with the 2.5 engine and the 6 speed manual transmission.

    • @Kacpa2
      @Kacpa2 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Forester had it. Just get 2014-2017 Forester or 2010-2015 Outback abd you will have 2.5L and 6speed.

    I wish they'd put the BRZ's engine in the Crosstrek with a manual. Now that would be delightful combination.

    • @Kacpa2
      @Kacpa2 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You vould engine swap it. People swapped 2.4 turbo into Crosstrek so its definetly possible.

    • @stopthebs77

      That would be sick AF. As far as swaps go, a dude put in a hi-lo manual transmission somewhere here on TH-cam and it's sick AF.

    Got my 23 manual late last year. This is the second car ive owned and while I knew it was going to be slightly underpowered as a college student it was the car that I could afford new. While I wish it came with a turbo or at least the 180hp the sport has, you get used to it. Im not sure how it would be with the cvt because of the drivetrain loss but the manual makes it easier to squeez all the "power" out. Fuel economy varies with any vehicle but with a mostly highway commute im hitting 26.2 mpg indicated by the onboard computer. This car is a good at being a daily nothing more nothing less. However the manual makes it more enjoyable and fun, sad to see it not offered in the next gen but thats how the industry goes.

    The Canadian models are so different. I got a 2023 Sport in red, manual 6T transmission, 2.0 litre engine, sun roof, heated seats and steering wheel, power seats and larger info screen. It also has LED fog lights, and LED headlights that turn with the steering wheel, rear cross traffic alert and lane warning. It does not have air pressure monitor which is not even an option on any Crosstrek models in Canada. No eye sight, lane assist or adaptive cruise or auto start stop which I had on my wife's CVT Crosstrek. Mine has more options on it then the premium model in the USA.

      Agree. 6th gear is for cruising. I had a Honda Fit 5MT back in the day that would be at 3500rpm at 80mph and would've killed for taller gear ratios at the top.

      @@joelv4495 Yeah i have 2012 XV(EU market XV Crosstrek) with 6 speed manual and its very nice for trips and cruise driving. Only problem with mine is oil consumption. Its spacious and confortable and i do love how its "outdated" as in still having twistkey ignition and traditional radio while still having a backup camera in mfd. I just wish it was a a longer wagon like Levorg or Outback instead being a big-ish hatchback.

  • @jeffrey3498
    @jeffrey3498 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Fifth and sixth gears are overdrive gears. If you want to accelerate from sixth, you need to downshift to fourth. Are you trying to compare the Crosstrek to a sports car?

    • @trpt18
      @trpt18 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is exactly my line of thought. If you want to accelerate from 6th without downshifting, then better get a fancy european car or a muscle car. This is an affordable Subaru. People should stop making videos comparing it to super mighty cars.
      In my case, although I had hit 100mph on my '23 Premium 6mt Crosstrek a couple times already, it is not made for speeding, very much less is a torque beast.

    • @Kacpa2
      @Kacpa2 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@trpt18 True. In 4th its very peppy. Also if someone needs more then just go for WRX or Outback XT. I wish subaru just came to their senses and sold Levorg/WRX wagon with a stickshift and sold.it everywhere.

    Happy to see that this 2023 Premium Crosstrek *with Foglights*
    *Does NOT* have:
    Push button Start /Keyless Entry(easier to steal);
    Sunroof(Hail will smash the glass and it eventually leaks);
    No Eyesight =Less Inadvertant Braking and Expensive to Align!
    And Happy that this Crosstrek has an Actual Manual HandBrake- Not Electric handbrake (when the batteries die, the Electric Brake will "seize the brakes", cant release, and you cant bump start the car!!).

    As someone who owns a 2023 Crosstrek 6 speed - the car should have been in 2nd gear entering the freeway - not 3rd gear. 5:53 At full throttle, a traditional automatic would have downshifted into 2nd gear.

    This is my work car and I enjoy the manual. Everything Zygrene said is true. The lumbar, annoying as it is at first, is actually fine on long trips. 2:12 "... no rear air vents...". There's probably air delivered via vents that run under the front seats. Not adjustable in any way. Just take off ducts from the front HVAC system. P.s. love the car. It will likely be my next, from the used market, after my trusty old 2006 Civic finishes turning back to dust (rust, soon). Honda, unfortunately, have lost their way. I'm sold not only on the Subaru late models with manual transmission, but also the simple hand brake. I just want sturdy, simple, and reliable.

    I get that Subi boxes aren't rev monsters, but for a 2.0L engine, the EE20's 4750 rpm redline is absolutely criminal. Especially when the 2.5L RS taps out at 6100 rpm. Are we to assume the 2.0L revs are kept artificially low for an EPA rating of 33 mpg highway and 28 mpg city? Not when the 2.5L gets 34 mpg hwy and 27 mpg city. So what gives here?

    I found that when using a K&N 1008 oil filter it flows more oil than the factory one and the variable cam timing is controlled by oil pressure and volume. Immediately after changing my oil with that filter I gained a bunch of power it’s quite peppy now. I’m thinking I changed the cam timing to a more aggressive curve. Btw my Crosstrek is a ‘23 6mt.

    El XW es un auto de ciudad tipo sedan con la posibilidad de tener un buen desempeño en todo terreno, y asi poder salir del asfalto.
