I am a marimba player and I’m learning trombone and I would love to be able to play this piece one day as the trombone player! I would also love to learn the marimba part but I’m aiming for the trombone part!
Nicely done. I've shared this out to Trumpet and Brass groups I'm in because this is definitely a pairing that would work with just about any pairing you can think to play it.
@Lixaef That's what trombones are great for - it was actually the players suggestion to drop a few down the octave. he almost makes a regular trombone sound like a bass trombone to me!
This is a really good piece and as I Marimba player I really like it! However, when I tried to go to your sight it said it couldn't connect to the DNS server, I would really like the sheet music and I was wondering if there was another way I could get it.
@Myles Wright thank you for the reply! First off, this music is amazing! And second, I was able to get it to work, I think my computer was just being weird that day.
Warning: as indicated by Rachel, the marimbist is skipping a LOT of notes, like hundreds. If played as written I would call this piece "Advanced", I certainly won't be able to get it up to tempo! As written not shown here: LH RH unison in octaves, octaves in the RH (including independent rolls), some very fast (and difficult) interval changes in the left hand towards the end (from a 4th to low-A octave), and lots of other little notes... A great piece but not for the faint-hearted!
Trying to learn this I'm a trombonist, the high stuff isn't too much of a problem, but do you have any recommendations on how to make that pedal F speak quicker?
good day my name is Jonathan Nunez live in Colombia, I am currently an undergraduate student symphonic percussion and then I find myself currently developing a repertoire of chamber music for my graduation project, my question is is there any way that I can buy those scores or rent them? I appreciate you answer my concerns, thanks.

Can you scan this sheet for me? I need this sheet for my performance in this week but I can't find this sheet in my country...and I have no much time...
I can't say, since I'm not a percussionist or trombone player myself. That said, it was written with professional players in mind. If high school players were to perform it, they would need to be at the top of their game I think. Perhaps some others here can elaborate
I am highly disappointed the marimba player left out so many notes though!! Especially from J to the end... If you can't play the part, don't take it that fast!
Well speaking to her she had only three days to prepare the part for the recording. Personally I would much rather have a performance with good tempo and energy than hearing all of the notes.
So well put and paired together in a "unique" sound by the two. This composer had good selection of musical noting and rhythm.
I am definitely going to perform this piece at some point in my college career! Such a great piece to listen to and I can't wait to perform it!
I enjoyed both the composition and performance. I am especially impressed with the sound balance in the recording.
Thank you mpwrk1, I'm glad you like it. I believe only a stereo mic technique was used so the players are balancing themselves quite well.

I see a lot of college level folks and pros on here buying this music. Do you think this is too challenging for high school level?
