  • Columbus, Ohio plastic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Donaldson narrates this instructional video that shows how to place an abdominal binder after tummy tuck. Both the one-person and two-person techniques are demonstrated. For more information about tummy tuck surgery, visit www.donaldsonplasticsurgery.co...
This is a post abdominoplasty binder. The inside has no seam, while the outside has a seam and has velcro.
The objective when applying the abdominal binder is to achieve compression around the surgical site. It should be more snug when possible. That is the one person technique - the binder should be smooth without any folds.
We will also demonstrate the two person technique. Sometimes it’s advantageous and more compression can be applied when there is an assistant. The binder should be comfortable and should be over the operated area, it should not be impinging on the lower breasts and it should not be impinging on the hips.

We watched this video to figure out how to put my wife’s binder back on properly, She had a tummy tuck .. she is very sore and cant sit straight up. While I appreciate this video I feel it should be shown how to do this while bent over like you had a tummy tuck and with someone who has a smaller waist. This is not an accurate video for someone bent over and in pain.

Hi there! Thanks for your feedback on this video. We are actually re-doing this abdominal binder video, as well as many of our other instructional videos, with updated information and more realistic demonstrations to show what it would be like for patients after surgery. We will update it on our channel soon!
