With the Lip Whips, you can’t smack your lips together while it’s drying, or it does a weird, heavy, budding up thing. If you just do the one layer, it’s super pretty and doesn’t wear heavy throughout the day. It’s the most long-wearing liquid lipstick I have found and the only one I will use on brides. I just hate that it’s like you have one chance to apply it, or you’re screwed. Definitely give them another chance, though, and follow the little “do’s and donuts” card that they sent you with the order and see if that helps because I feel like you might like them. 😊

to be fair many if not most American brands have foundations for dry skin but have failed in making a good enough foundation for oily and combination skin. I have tried many affordable and looked into reviews for more expensive foundations and this one is recommended by many for us with nasty oily skin, so while I do understand where you're coming from, dry skin has waaay more options than really oily skin.

Biggest thing that changed my crocodile dry skin was eliminating oils from my skin care. What your skin needs is water based products, water=moisture. Those oily products only sit on top & mask the real problems. Also exfoliating 2x a week along with my lavender (or rose if you’re allergic) & glycerin (super cheap on amazon) water works amazing even as a makeup primer & setting spray
Oils definitely sit on top of the skin if you’re not using the correct ones. Especially if you’re using unnatural oils with filler & fragrance & you’re not cleansing & exfoliating your skin properly. Oily does not equal moisture hence why oils & water do not mix.
I love when you really zoom into your face while doing foundation and concealer. It always makes me think “oh ok I’m not doing anything wrong it’s just my skin!” Because I have really dry skin just like yours and watching youtubers with all their lights and filters they look flawless no matter what. This gives a much better understanding that some products just don’t work well for everyone and doesn’t make me feel as bad!

She had to give it a second chance too because she didn’t use it in the way it was suggested for best use, which was to put their oil underneath. It was still pretty matte for Jackie too tho.

I don’t usually comment, but as a girl with painfully dry skin (even when wearing a good moisturizer made for dry skin), I had to tell you about my new moisturizer that has totally saved my skin. I now use the Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Hydrator, and it’s amazing! All of my flaky, dry, rough sandpaperiness is completely gone when I use this moisturizer. My skin is so soft and plump and silky feeling, so smooth! It feels like a baby’s skin!! They do have their original Moisture Surge if the 72-Hour one is too much during the summertime. I also love their All About Eyes eye cream-it works just as well as the moisturizer I am now using! Anyway, I really hope this helps you! I would still use a hydrating primer when wearing makeup, but without makeup, you’re good to go! I really want to try Beauty Bakerie and Thrive Causemetics! How was the new brush from Thrive? The Lip Whips are designed to be applied in up to three thin coats: lip line with the first coat then apply additional coats if desired; allow to dry between coats. When you apply it in one thick schmear it stays sticky. I love the metallic shades, especially Apple Crisp. Thank you for keeping the focus on Beauty Bakerie despite having to mention the Huda thing.
When you were saying "Scoopskies Eli.."you know...lol... I immediately thought of Impractical Jokers' Joe and his "Scoopskie Potato!" hahahaha!! This is a cute line of makeup. I'll go see their site. Even the matte mess going on (which will be my future if I try that foundation) you did a great job pulling it all together. Just a question; could using matte foundation around my smile lines and under my eyes and then using a more dewy foundation on the rest of my face help control fine line settling? Your comment about it not settling in your smile lines makes me wonder if that would work.

I use drugstore products- the Vanilla Bean line from Maui Moisture is my favorite- and one gel- the one from Aussie. My curls look really great, in my opinion, and my hair feels like silk.

I love videos like this! I definitely think it’s helpful to watch an entire video on one brand and kind of give the pros and cons all at once. This look is stunning and now I definitely want to try out their setting powder and palettes.
I'm not sure, but I think from Jackie Aina's review of the foundation, the foundation is waterproof so using a wet beauty blender might not work
Dragana Dragutinovic Jackie also has oily skin so even if that is the case (which I’ve heard it is) it’s obviously gonna work better for her just due to her skin type, you know?
She had to give it a second chance too because she didn’t use it in the way it was suggested for best use, which was to put their oil underneath. It was still pretty matte for Jackie too tho.

Hi, Kathleen! I don’t usually comment, but as a girl with painfully dry skin (even when wearing a good moisturizer made for dry skin), I had to tell you about my new moisturizer that has totally saved my skin. I now use the Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Hydrator, and it’s amazing! All of my flaky, dry, rough sandpaperiness is completely gone when I use this moisturizer. My skin is so soft and plump and silky feeling, so smooth! It feels like a baby’s skin!! They do have their original Moisture Surge if the 72-Hour one is too much during the summertime. I also love their All About Eyes eye cream-it works just as well as the moisturizer I am now using! Anyway, I really hope this helps you! I would still use a hydrating primer when wearing makeup, but without makeup, you’re good to go! I really want to try Beauty Bakerie and Thrive Causemetics! How was the new brush from Thrive? The Lip Whips are designed to be applied in up to three thin coats: lip line with the first coat then apply additional coats if desired; allow to dry between coats. When you apply it in one thick schmear it stays sticky. I love the metallic shades, especially Apple Crisp. Thank you for keeping the focus on Beauty Bakerie despite having to mention the Huda thing.

When you were saying "Scoopskies Eli.."you know...lol... I immediately thought of Impractical Jokers' Joe and his "Scoopskie Potato!" hahahaha!! This is a cute line of makeup. I'll go see their site. Even the matte mess going on (which will be my future if I try that foundation) you did a great job pulling it all together. Just a question; could using matte foundation around my smile lines and under my eyes and then using a more dewy foundation on the rest of my face help control fine line settling? Your comment about it not settling in your smile lines makes me wonder if that would work.

I use drugstore products- the Vanilla Bean line from Maui Moisture is my favorite- and one gel- the one from Aussie. My curls look really great, in my opinion, and my hair feels like silk.

First of all, I love that you made a video about beauty bakerie! They deserve more hype and they’re an incredible black owned brand and the owner’s story is incredible.
2. So the owner has made a video about the lip whips and in it she does emphasis that you should wait to press your lips together because the formula has to set since it’s smudge and waterproof.
This could be a cool “Kathleen jumps in the pool with her makeup on” video!!!
