- Join us for an evening visit to the Callanish (Calanais) Standing Stones on the north western side of the Isle of Lewis, in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. These stones, erected in a cross-shaped pattern, date back over 5,000 years, pre-dating Stonehenge. To the east of the stones, there is a community of houses that can create background clutter if the stones are photographed from the west side. We found the location was best suited to late afternoon and evening photography. During our visit (early October), we had quite cloudy conditions. However, we did our best to capture some moody photographs.
We hope you enjoy the video.

Very cool! Nice to see that the stones are still quite accessible. Amazing to see structures like this still standing as sentinels to the past! Wow!! Bruce and Otis
The Scott’s have a very nice view of how to protect but at same time make them available to the public. Thanks for watching. Give Otis a pat for us. All the best. Shawn and Corinne.
Never visited the Callanish Stones, Lewis & Harris is on our bucket list, glad your photos turned out well....
Thank you Stewart. It is well worth the visit, but requires some patience as it is very busy. All the best. Shawn and Corinne.
Shawn and Corinne, lovely images of the stones. Shawn, you are being way too overcritical of the conditions you had. They’re awesome shots. Thank you both for sharing. Peace and Safe Travels.
Thank you Craig - You are very kind. Hope you and Shelley are well. Take care. Shawn and Corinne.
