You’re actually correct. This song describes the industry and social inequality as a whole. It can be both towards the male and female point of view. It can be interpreted as a relationship as well. But Simon clarified that this was about how the industry treats women. Simon was an ex kpop idol. So he knows what he’s talking about. Some “men” thought this was very toxic and took the message the wrong way. They thought it was women mistreating or using men as puppets. They forgot that 3 out of the 4 are men including Simon that wrote this song
I do believe it’s the industry, but also your life in general. The message behind this song is that you are the one controlling your life. Chisa kept repeating during the interview, how you look at the world can change your life, perception influences your experience.
Simon, their producer, was in a boy group, has a up close and personal understanding of how The Industry works and it can be like personal relationships. IMO and only mine, he's the captain navigating our girls through the galactic goo of the music industry and I pray he never changes. The hands at the end and during video is the Alphaz sign; wolf symbolized with index and pinky up, middle and ring touching the thumb pad. Alphaz gon' ride or die [left right]. Enjoying your reference catches and your point of view by the way.👍🏾👍🏾
Love your xg videos! Thanks for explaining your thought process and the meaning behind the song. Some guys have made it to be some sort of degradation of men when the song wasn’t really about that. Thanks for the video! Keep em coming! Also, it could be about the music industry and how it treats women. And this song talks about them taking that power back and how they’ll do it in their own way. Edit: the hands at the end is their hand sign for a wolf for Alphaz
It's crazy to me how these ladies haven't missed and the fact that none of their music sounds like the other, but they have the XG touch. Their budget for the MVs for the New DNA album must've been crazy.. Production quality is crazy. Whenever you get to GRL GVNG make sure to watch the MV and the dance practice. Not sure if budget was an issue but the MV only has half the song. The MV is INSANE though.
I was there when Atari came on the scene! Frogger and that monotonous but highly addictive brick knock down game bring back so many nostalgic memories. So yes, XG even appeals to us Boomers 😉
Simon gave an interview when this was released. It's a metaphor about how the industry overseas treats their artists. Simon was in a group himself and wanted to prove that it is possible to create a group and train them in a safe and nurturing environment. By doing so, you have elite artists that are capable of anything while still being humble and good people. Simon is actually the character in blue that blows up, it signifies how he had to break out of the industries standards for particularly girls so that they could make waves across the world.
This song, to me, is about the censorship of the S Korean government in music and how involved they are in the route "KPop" is going. Read the lyrics without the music and it becomes clear. Simon hates the censorship and he's making it known with this song.
Great reaction to my girls bro XG is fire 🔥 my take on this song is they using men and women relationships as a metaphor to the industry (k-pop) XG had hate from k netizens for appearing on live k pop shows so they had to fight they way now that they have been rising to the top, because they are super talented, especially from their fan base Alphaz who loves and support them so now the industry also wants to showcase them because they have crossed the divide and reached the top/pinnacle and they are calling the shots I love XG my ride or die XG for life Alphaz on deck XG world domination 🌏👑🐺✌️❤️🔥 btw it's been a year and a few months since they debuted they are phenomenal
お大事に!Given you react to a lot of Pentatonix, you would probably like the XG Vox videos that showcase the vocal line. The first one featured Chisa and Juria covering Peaches.
If you liked the MV, could you check out the Studio Choom version which is a 4K dance performance version. You can then see more clearly who does what parts. Also, Studio Choom is a prestigious platform for top or up and coming Kpop artists, such as Stray Kids, Ateez etc. XG is so hugely talented that the industry can’t ignore them but in time their artistry and talent will be acknowledged globally.
The extra P in your thumbnail title is in reference to the three puppets before the rapline spits in the second verse. 'Puppet, pi, puppet, puppet' 😂🐺👽🧬
just a bit more info. When you mentioned the hand /finger sign, it was the sign of FIRE (and also the sign indicating the image of a WOLF where they also showed this in TGIF). Looks like you are suffering from Flu. We hope that you get well soon. Thank you for your reaction and analysis. 👍💯🔥

hand sign = fox = wolf. (you'll find out more in the docu-series). For me, this song caters to the kl-pop standards tune, which is no where near what they are coming up with. Just sprinkle XG on it and its called Puppet Show!
Have you listened to GrlGvng yet? I need a playlist to keep up lol for that song you’ll need the MV and a lyric video or the dance practice to hear the whole song the MV isn’t the whole song.

Simon said it is about industry.

What they’re doing with their hands are the wolf fingers. They are a Wolfpack after all and their fandom name is Alphaz

They did the wolf hand signal when they were bowing at the end of the song
I always love your reaction videos to XG
