Just freaking love you guys so much! ❤ Caroline, I am going to have to start writing down all your "Caroline-isms." You're the queen of my fair!! I love puzzles so I'm absolutely going to start thinking about controlling variation that way from now on. Genius! Aimee, LOVE the owl finish!! I have such a soft spot for owls. My grandmother used to tag me in ALL things owls on Facebook before she passed and I love seeing the FB memories that she has tagged me in. I have the Artsy Housewife Oona Owl kitted and ready to start in her honor.

I too entered in the Wa State Fair. Haven't gone to see the entries. Will definitely look for yours. So cool. Didn't realize that you ladies were in Washington! Love you video.
Elizabeth - as I was telling Aimee on Instagram, I actually do find stitching in hand easier on the body - I didn’t think I would like it before I tried it, but the improvement in wrist and shoulder/neck pain compared to my long favorite q snaps (and my old favorite scroll frame with lap stand even) has made me quite the convert!
I bought that Jane Austen quilt pattern!!! I haven’t quilted it yet, but my hope is to use it as a mini version for my craft room, to go along with my other “reproduction” I want to make (which is to make wallhanging version of a Dove in the Window/Bear Paw quilt a la Laura Ingalls Wilder).
Great video, as always!! I love stitching in hand. It’s so easy to just pick up a piece and not have to worry about putting on a hoop or q snap. I did notice a difference of the way my stitches look when I started vs now. So my skill level has improved. So keep trying. Very relaxing!! I even stitch my full coverages this way.
A fantastic video as always! So many great FFOs and WIPs. Loved mushroom hunters. Cracked up at the “director’s commentary” giving us the update of the study in nature. So excited for the next video!

Ugh I was supposed to start that Autumn Hill for my birthday a few days ago but lost my nerve but now I want to start it and I have Nevermore on deck to start next month! I totally agree with you about Weeks! I don't know if it makes any sense, but it feels too dry to me. I used to hear people describe different yarn as dry and I was always like wtf are you talking about? Is your other yarn wet? But Weeks feels too dry to me and it curls and tangles and also shreds and falls apart and I actually hate it. I have had issues with it every time I've tried to use it. Every color. Too dry.

Hi ladies. Just discovered your videos and love to watch!! Can you tell me the fabric and floss used for Owliver? I love it so much but not a fan of the called for colors on the original pattern. Thanks!
Hi. Great video and most enjoyable. In the away we ride by blackbird, the crow’s color was mentioned. You were all talking at the same time and I could not decipher what color you used on it. If you get a second, please let me know. Thks.
One more thing. Your Modern Folk Embroidery is lovely. I wanted to alert you that since you only have a small bit started, you might want to consider a center start. I know Jacob suggested that in one of his videos. It seems it’s a safer start to avoid running out of room on the fabric. Of course, if you have a huge piece of fabric it may be a moot point, but I thought I ought to alert you.
Aaaah! One of the only frames I haven’t tried. Alas, both times I’ve purchased them small children got to them before I did, and disassembled everything. Maybe now that they’re older I’ll give it another go. :)
The Weeks floss that fluffed out, probably you were stitching against the grain. If you run the thread through your fingers, you will probably find it feels "catchy" in one direction and smooth in the other direction. Because Weeks is over-dyed, the floss may already be stressed in a way that DMC, for example, is not. Then, stitching against the grain could be the last straw for the floss's integrity. I've never used Weeks. Stitching against the grain has fuzzed up other floss I've used, though, so I'm guessing that may be the problem you encountered. So maybe don't give up on any Weeks you still have. Just check for the grain before you use it. Edit. Oh, lol. Later I heard you already have been told about the grain issue. I'll leave this here for the algorithm. 😂
Thank you for taking the time to help, though! My problem with weeks isn’t the fluffing, it’s that I find the threads curl really badly when separated, leading to a tendency to twist.
@@Threadgremlins Oh, good! Just use a gentle touch and trust yourself. I could never detect a directional difference with the black I used to use. (I decided the dye that produced black was too rough on the floss, but that's just my guess.)
