Fun fact🙈: I purposely bought plates &bowls and planned to dabao back to my room to film it 😅 but my friends said that filming at dining hall is more realistic😳😳😳 so I really tried to overcome the fear of filming in the public!!🤪 btw is the food ok? hahaha

NUS Hall Meals provide more side dishes compare to SAF Cookhouse. While you get a bowl of barley or salad, Solider only get a Fruit. A meal in SAF cost around $5+ which does not worth it most of the time. I did not have a meal in NUS Hall before, so I cannot compare the taste. Out of 5 stars, I will give NUS 3 stars and SAF 2 stars.
If I can eat like that in Army, I would be very happy.

Trust me, this looks better than cookhouse food (Army food) on normal days. Well, if you factor in grass jelly, ice-cream, beancurd and yogurt and special menu during festival season in army. Then Army will be better. (That is like 4 in 30 chance per month (If you are lucky that is 15 in 30), or even lesser)
Ikr. I was in combat vocation as a trooper and we literally only could eat cookhouse food all the time. The food in this video looks so much better. But I know some other guys who served in non combat service vocations and had more freedom to go to the canteens so the food was probably different (idk).
The wasabi taste is actually from the pesticides used on the veg

The food in NUS is so cheap!! NTU doesn't have meal plan and food in NTU costs at least 3 plus. Also, I don't think the portion is that large! The food sold in the newly opened Koufu in NTU is even more expensive! Yong tao fu costs at least $4.20. As a big eater, I'm quite jealous of NUS students! @ntusu please help us to fight for cheaper food in NTU!
Btw I think can dabao the food back to the room and dilute/filter the salt or oil with a bowl of plain hot water. That's how I have been doing in NTU.

我是在malaysia政府大学读书的，我学校宿舍的选择是很多，十多样选择吧。。。可是吃到很怕因为菜单几乎没有什么换。你们的菜色少可是每天在换，而且还有韩国餐那些，看起来蛮爽的。我要在我学校吃到华人餐还要跑去别block的宿舍，你的楼下就有了。。。其实你们的价钱真的很便宜啊，在新加坡应该很难找到这个价钱。
哈哈是咯 所以这里的马来西亚人都很知足～
11:14 jackie is still around! dining hall looks so much more spacious with all the tables spread apart haha. they also give you so much more food every serving! is it cos there’s not many people eating? during my time it was always crowded. going towards the end of dinner time was always a gamble whether there’s still a lot or very little food left.
u pay $428 /mth for the food, but u still use credits to redeem meals? I'm confused .... then how much are u paying for accommodation?
$428 for 17 weeks (4.25months)
6 breakfast& dinner each week= 204 meals
But you can consume more than 204 meals cos our credits are more than that.
Each person can redeem 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners at maximum every day.

This food is not like the army's at all in Kranji Camp and Khatib Camp, not sure which camp that guy goes to. Army food is a lot less in quantity (2 meat consisting of little meat cubes and 1 veg) and doesnt look nearly as appetising! We have fish maybe once a week, and they serve 2 little slices at a time, not the entire fillet lol. No chicken chop or pork chop, only meat cubes. I lost a lot of weight (I was never overweight) in camp even though I finish all my meals. Dont elevate the army food like this pls 😅 also, are you from Malaysia? I detect a strong Malaysian accent haha

I know man, jia you :) ns serves a lot less (where got such thing as ordering 7 dishes like them and dabao lmao). We only have 3 dishes and they often give very little to non-commanders.
So much food per pax... its a waste of food.
